It is mainly for blood pressure. I was prescribed a low daily dose of it and although it lowered my BP BUT it also lowered my kidney function which can happen so they took me off of it. I have protein leak but the doc never suggested that Ramiprill would help with that. It was just for my BP. I am not on any medication for blood pressure at the moment as mine was only slightly high.

I have protein leak as well and he suggest me to take Apo medication , he said it helps to leaking protein and lower blood pressure, which I never had blood pressure . My blood pressure always normal. And I don’t see it that it say to stop leaking protein in their instructions, instead I saw it decreased kidney function. Many side effects.

My son takes Ramipril just to treat proteinuria, resulting in kidney damage caused by kidney vasculitis. It seems to work if I look at the results of the exams, but unfortunately he also takes other medicines to treat the vasculitis and it is therefore difficult to understand what works most. He has never had high blood pressure problems even though it is known that kidney problems can raise the pressure and so Ramipril is also preventive

Yes on it no adverse effects. Keeps BP down and my understanding is that it protects the kidney. I too have kidney disease. I collect my drugs from Boots. They regularly review all my meds and the pharmacist is very helpful and will give advice. My advice would be to ask the pharmacist in Boots to help....

Hi, I use drugs.com to check on all medications before I take them. I printed out the page from there for you to check out and see if you have questions for your doctor after reading it.

Ask your doctor about Lisinopril. It is used for reducing proteinuria as well as decreasing bp. I am on a very low dose which has helped lower my proteinuria with no side effects. Some people get a cough or other side effects from it.
