Hello GinLee. I was diagnosed with CKD a couple of years ago and am at late stage 4 with less than 20% kidney function working. I am coping pretty well I consider. I have down days and I do get very tired and quite often sick. I still working full time but am able to do most of my job from home so not having to travel helps a lot. This forum is very knowledgeable and supportive.
Welcome, GinLee! Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. I think that's an important part of the journey. I'm coping okay today, how are you feeling? Have a great day!
I was diagnosed with CKD level 3 about 2 years ago. Doctor put me on a "pre-dialysis diet" along with prescribed exercise routine . It is very structured diet but seems to be working. From what am reading on posts, your GFR can vary depending on lab and if they use eGFR or GFR. Maybe other factors can influence change in GFR? Good luck on your journey. You have come to right place for support and info.
Thanks so much. Dr hasn't put me on a specific diet but am also a diabetic so 'try' to apply that diet but do tend to go overboard on the fruits, which usually are high in sugars.
Hi GinLee. I'm stage 3 and had a slight improvement last labs I was diagnosed in March this year. My Dr not much help.
Happy that you are aboard! It is a time consuming ds which I handle by educating myself in the area of CKD and I am greatly involved in flowers and a small veg and herbs garden. I am amazed that the peppers are still producing. We have frozen green beans and okra. We eat the asparagus as soon as they are ready. However, the herbs are flourishing. We are grateful to be able to grow some of our foods. This morning we went to the gym for a Barre class. Yes, I do get tired but I will not allow this aggravation to keep me down. My GFR is at 15%. I will get more blood work next week. Right now I am going through a series of test to learn about this high HR: Thursday, I will do a stress-ECHO, then next week it will be the VO Patch. Hang in there. Learn about a healthy diet and exercise to help maintain your best self with love, peace, and gratitude
