At present, I don't but heard that it is not uncommon. Check with the doctor..:)

I did when I started retaining water really bad. Once the water pills took down the swelling, the itching subsided. But, I still have scars on my ankles from it. I also had a short outbreak of itching on my face and forehead. My doctor gave me a script gel med and it stopped it. But, yes, I went through a very itchy phase for about a month or two, but it seems to have gone now.

Hi Karena 53. I was diagnosed at stage 3b and I did have itching. Since have been on renal diet I do not. Guess everyone symptoms might be different combinations? It could be caused by high phosphorus levels, which I did have.

I actually had really bad itching all over, but especially on the palms of my hands. I was in stage 3a at the time. I'm now back to stage 2. Not sure why or how the itching stopped. I only get rashes when I eat a food I'm intolerant too then it's a red rash across my stomach.

Hi Karena53,

I experience terrible itching especially my back and head, my nephrologist said this is not uncommen with my PKD, stage 4, GFR 21, even before I got to this point. It makes it hard to sleep at night. Watching your diet can help. My doctor recommended some over the counter medication which I do not use. You should read further on it, I believe phospherous is a big culprit.

phosphorus is the culprit for me...i instantly know when i have had too much...so i drink coconut water instead...it is usually my feet that will itch...so i keep a ziploc bag of water in freezer and lay it around my feet...sometimes frozen feels too cold so i also just keep a bag of water in refrigerator...i only apply them for about 5 to 7 minutes...totally calms the itch and makes me sleep well....
