Slip up

Well what can I say, I was planning to eat healthy and cut out unnecessary snacks. Woke up from my evening nap feeling peckish. Gobbled up one packet of potato chips. Enough said I suppose🙆🏼‍♂️.

Hello Joeyman and welcome

Do you have any idea what caused the lapse? Did you have enough to eat? Have you been planning your meals?

I hope you’ve had time to read all the information you were given yesterday, I see you had several friendly and helpful replies 😊

I think me skipping lunch was the main culprit. Also I was feeling anxious meaning I would eat just to feel good.

And that’s a lesson learned 👍👏✅ Under eating and getting hungry is the single biggest cause of weight loss failure.

Hope you have a better day today 😊

Hi, don’t beat yourself up, it happens. I would happily gobble up crisps on a daily basis, so I now don’t have them in the house. If it isn’t there, I can’t eat it. You have to find what works for you. My theory is, if I’m hungry, I eat. I just try now to have things to hand that are a better choice. Maybe work out what healthier snacks you can replace the crisps with. But don’t stress, we have got you. 😀

There's no point beating yourself up about it. It was your choice. You did it, no-one else. Now it's in the past.

Perhaps you needed a snack so work out what you could eat when you need a snack without feeling bad about it. And next time do that instead.

I tend to go for a few grapes or maybe nuts but it's always going to be up to you.

I am thinking yoghurt as a better substitute.

Personally, I prefer not to snack if I can avoid it, I prefer to ‘spend’ my calories on bigger, more substantial meals 😊

Every day is a new day. The best way to not eat them is to not buy them. 😄

Hi there mrsomebody,

I prefer savoury foods and so did initially find it hard. There's something about things being crunchy too? So, I do have stuff in the house that are healthier choices than crisps now but try to limit them and eat my usual foods and don't tend to need them that way. When you get your shopping look for an alternative, even just buying smaller bags. A mate of mine serves the crisp isle now and that really helps him. I couldn't go cold Turkey myself !

Don’t be too hard on yourself for one slip up. Get back on that horse and ride into the sunset. 🦄
