You'll find the Daily Diary in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... - it's the fifth one down today. DON'T click on Write. Click on the header, read the opening post by today's host, Tiggerr, and that explains everything. Put your plan for today in the box saying Reply to Tiggerr and you're away :)

If you click on Write and fill in a format with your own header, you're creating a new forum post, not joining in the Daily Diary (or whichever of our other activities you want to join)

You haven't joined in with the Daily Diary, you've written a new post on the forum, when you clicked on Write, wrote a title (Meals yesterday) and filled out a form with your information.

If you click on the blue link I've given you for Pinned Posts, then scroll down through those posts and follow what I've said above, you'll get there :)

As I understand it, Iwilldoit22, you have 10st to lose, which means the meals you've listed are very small for you.

As a Type 2 diabetic, your main concern should be to reduce your blood sugar as quickly as possible. My advice, for what it's worth, would be to make a few small changes, eg:

Breakfast - lose the bread, don't go low fat. Have fried bacon, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms and wilted spinach, washed down with tea/coffee with whole milk/cream.

Lunch - large mixed salad, ham, home made mayo and coleslaw, natural Greek yoghurt with berries.

Dinner - curry with cauliflower rice/cabbage/roasted veg (courgette, aubergine, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, rather than sweet potatoes)

Steer clear of snacks and artificially sweetened desserts and drinks, as they will keep you in fat storage mode and will 'feed' your sweet tooth. Fruit, other than berries, has a high sugar content.

Hidden - what medications are you on? I agree that this diet is better for you, but if you are taking insulin (for example) you need to talk to your doctor before lowering your carb intake, so the meds can be adjusted.

Note: I am not a doctor, nor diabetic. This is based on my reading.

I’m on a number of meds I’m not just a diabetic but have blood pressure fibromyalgia depression the list is endless.I am following the diabetic book I had from my diabetic nurse. And I am adjusting my injection which I spoke to my diabetic nurse. I am doing my bloods 4 times a day and there better than they have ever been. I’m not on insulin but it’s a similar injection I have one in the morning and one before evening meal. I adjust my dose according to my blood sugar

Cool. You know much more about this stuff than I do.

From my reading, well controlled sugar and well controlled diabetes is not the same thing. Can I suggest you spend some time with David Unwin and Jasun Fung? Google or YouTube.

This should get you started.
