Hello all you lovely Daily Diarists. I hope you're happy with your progress so far and have planned your meals for today so I can steal some from you. lol. Very sorry for posting late today. I know a lot of you like to post early but visitors held me up today.
Welcome to all you newbies posting for the first time. Just tell us what you plan to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner and any snacks. Remember to give the calorie count for each meal, if you are counting calories, that is, and the range recommended for your BMI. Also tell us what exercise you plan on doing.

L - Halloumi, avocado and orange salad and an apple - 358 cals

Total of 1,300 cals from a range of between 1,250 - 1,607
Exercise - A brisk walk in the park

That's fantastic! Compliments are such incentives aren't they?
I see we have similar menus today. I've had the halloumi in the fridge for weeks! It's a good job it has a good shelf life just remembered I've got some wraps in the freezer so I might steal your idea and use that too.
hi morgancando, your menu sounds nice. I tried cauliflower rice tonight, which a first for me, but it was ok. Children were a bit suspicious, but they ate it. Lucky I googled how to make it as I was going to cook the cauliflower then put it through a potato ricer. Tomorrow I'll be having
B- overnight oats with peanut butter and seeds, half grapefruit 450
L- will get something from the supermarket, but stick to 400. Your lunch sounds good, might copy that
D- meatballs in tomato sauce with sweet potato chips 397
snacks - orange, apple, carrot 100
tea and coffee 100
total of 1447, short of 1700 target, so might have piece of cheese if I get hungry or glass of wine in the evening if I don't
I've only recently found cauliflower rice and find it really nice. You can add spices to give it a bit more flavour. The rest of your menu sound delicious.
Hope you're enjoying the forum. It's been good seeing you around.
Hi rutheliza your children sound delightful - a bit suspicious of the cauliflower rice but they gave it a try! I haven't got round to trying it yet, not sure about how well my insides do with cauliflower at the moment. I hope you all enjoy the sweet potato chips - so much nicer than boring potato chips I think, and that you get your glass of wine.
Hi All, and thanks for posting and your great poster Morgancando your menu sounds really tasty - particularly the hotpot.
Breakfast: Apple, brazil nuts 220
Brunch: Ham’n’eggs, vegetable soup, rye bread 450
Dinner: venison casseroled with carrots, celeriac, onion, herbs, lots of garlic and sherry. Runner beans, small amount of rice or sweet potato mash 450
Snacks: beer and peanuts! My local pub has Smokey Bacon flavour peanuts! They’re even better than the Crispy Duck flavoured ones that they had a few weeks ago, the barman called me “cynical” when I got very excited about them last week. About 400 calories probably, but it is Friday night.
1500.
Exercise - I really have to try to get back on the exercise horse today - at the time of posting (thurs eve) I'm still very snuffly but much better so my excuses and reasons are running out, even if I'm not quite yet. So: Rebounder and strength session at a gentle level that won't wear me out.
Oh wysemonkey what a delicious sounding menu, especially the venison casserole. Do you have the recipe? Hope you're feeling much better tomorrow but don't over do it.
It always feels like I'm posting my DD on the run!
B - eggs (poached or scrambled) and mushrooms, 215
L - spicy carrot and lentil soup, Peters Yard crispbreads with butter, 420
D - HD pot-roast beef and veg, cabbage, 570.
This leaves 600-700, so I will definitely refine this tomorrow!
Sounds great Hidden . Those HD guys should be paying us for all the publicity they get on here. Love the sound of carrot and lentil soup. Is that a HD recipe too?
Have a great day and be sure to get those calories in throughout the day.
I had a good day today. Actually consumed almost 2000 cals. Range is 1691-2174. It does feel a bit strange consuming so much food but, I will have to see how I get on.
Mmm! Any invites dazzle . The pan seared cod loin sounds gorgeous! I know it seems to go against the grain to have such a big calorie allowance after being brainwashed into thinking we have to cut the cals to lose weight, but it works. I think you'll be very surprised when you weigh in next.
Thank you for hosting Morgancando love the poster.
This evening's was beautiful tonight. My fellow rowers were whipping up the river, but I took my time focusing my stroke length (and enjoying the last evening row. It was perfect, the river was glass like. Next week, the start of gym practice. Usual weekend morning practice.
Welcome to the DD Lalab1 . Hope you find lots of inspiration on here to help you achieve your goal. Your menu today sounds delicious. I notice lots of us are having wraps today.
Really hope you have good news soon regarding your treatment and that it's successful for you and hubby. It'll be so worth it in the end especially as you have such a good reason for losing the weight.
Stay strong, take one day at a time and the very best of luck.
I'm trying to keep cals low today as I have a very indulgent dinner party tomorrow. So im aiming for 800 maybe.
B - coffee and a yoghurt (80)
L - simple side salad, half a tuna pack (120)
D - Small bits of a greek mezze I'm making for me and P to celebrate a week done of work. Baked feta bouyiourdi, griddled chicken skewers (for P), tomato onion salad, fresh baked bread, olives, tzatziki and dressed houmous. Might even blow the budget with a glass of Greek wine I've dug up. As long as Im under 1500 I don't mind.
Hoping by next week I can lose 2 pounds so I'm trying to keep average daily at 1500 and today is day one.
Tips- one I need to remind myself - don't lie to yourself about what you're eating. If you've had unplanned butter on the roll, oil in the salad, 5 chips from OH's plate, a sneaky jaffa cake at the cupboard, 3 rice cakes while on the phone, handful of peanuts while making dinner.. these add up and not recording them does an disservice to yourself.
Wow Hidden what an amazing menu! That dinner is to die for. I've never heard of feta bouyiourdi but as I love feta i'm sure it'll be good. Enjoy your dinner party and the wine especially.
Great tip. It's so easy to pop things into your mouth without thinking. I've been known to weigh out my food and eat the excess!
They did a lot of baked fetas and bouyiourdi type things, it was to die for. I'll just put a slightly spicy tomato sauce on some foil, layer on feta, stud the feta with a mix of slow roasted tomatoes, fresh rosemary and oregano, sprinkle of oil and bake in the foil for 15, then 15 uncovered. So simple, but faintworthy good.
Breakfast cornflakes and a banana with skimmed milk. Coffee. 300calories
Lunch home made soup 2 slices bread with little butter 350 calories.
Dinner Chicken with carrots and swede, little mash. Gravy 450 calories.
Snacks 2 easy peelers and a Apple. Skimmed milk 150 calories.
I have done some walking around and a little shopping. Now I am helping my grandson pack has he is moving to his new place this afternoon . Then I will do a few days food planning, and then do some shopping.
Now I will be looking at what everyone else is eating and then I will get some ideas from you all.
Well done for planning a good menu today Hidden . With all you've got going on today that's an achievement in itself.
Hope you manage to settle into a good routine for yourself now that your Grandson has moved out. I'm sure you'll miss him but I'm sure he will be fine. You certainly are a Super gran but it's You time, from now on.
Have a great week.

Hope it all went well today! If youare open to advice I'd suggest that there is a big lack of healthy fat in your plan! Swede and carrot for example are really healthy but the human body can't really absorb their good stuff without fat. Butter for e.g. should help. Or even better a really good Olive oil drizzled over. A little avocado salad along with your soup or dinner. Or a full fat yoghurt aftrt your breakfast... just a wee reminder that fats ain't bad, in fact they're really necessary. Sorry to butt in if you weren't on the market for advice 😆😙
Hi Lalab1 sounds a like feast of a menu. You're making me hungry for a Maplel Danish!
As long as you're within your calorie range you should be fine but it's so easy to go over if you haven't counted them. The exercise should help though.
Try to plan you're meals carefully the night before and allow some extra calories if you know think you might go off plan.
