Finished WW! Now going it alone!

Weightwatchersgal profile image

Can’t believe after a year I’ve plucked up the courage to leave my weight watchers class and go it alone with a calorie counting app, a dance class I’ve been doing almost a year and starting a bootcamp next week feeling possitive!!

Let’s get rid of this saggy tummy!!

I used to go to Weight Watchers and then I became an online member. I have done much better since leaving Weight Watchers and joining this forum. I too use a calorie counting app and find that really helps too. I wish you the very best on your weight loss journey.

Aww thank you I found that with weight watchers they were pushing for the next target as soon as possible they put quite a lot of pressure on me

I found the same thing. I once went a couple of times to Slimming World and met a woman there who had been going for 10 weeks and had lost 1lb each week totalling 10lbs. The person running the class told her she was not losing enough each week and was putting pressure on her to lose more and this particular woman was about 12 1/2 stones to start with so 1lb a week was really good. We don't need all that extra pressure and it's nonsense anyway. It's better to lose at a steady pace and keep it off. All the best.

Surely that isn't the right attitude to take. A pound a week is a good average, something most folks would be happy with. Granted we would all like our excess poundage to come off in a couple of days, but ain't gonna happen. Slow and sure is the best way, that way it stays off. Certainly don't need somebody pressurising a body like that.

over the years I found its the leaders of meetings that can make a huge difference in your success. you need someone to support you whether you lose, sts or put on. ive had some lovely leaders over the years at different weight loss meetings and if someone was saying a pound a week was not enough, I wouldn't stay. ive gone it alone now and made it so easy by calorie counting (basically eat healthier and better portions but still have a treat) and exercise more. I have the odd slip and that's why came on this forum. you can do it and doing the weekly weigh in will help. good luck and think of the money youl save to buy yourself a new outfit. :-)

I reckon that is the right attitude to have. None of us are perfect, having the odd slip is forgivable. This is especially so as healthy eating, whichever way one does it, is a lifetime thing, not just for the few weeks/months it takes us to reach our target.

Thank you for the message. Yeah you are completely spot on there! I’m saving the money for bootcamp I’m starting on Wednesday it looks amazing. By the end of WW I found them so patronising and realised I was only going there to socialise! 😫
