Disappointing weigh-in.

Last week after my weigh-in 13Valerie commented on how pain can be emotional too. Nowadays I try to get out at least twice a week. ON Saturday I phoned for a cab to take me to the village I decided to use my rollator/walker as I needed to pick up my winter duvet from the laundrett if I used my stick I'll be no good to myself later. The taxi driver parks no where near where I said and on seeing the rollator/walker shouted to me I needed a lower taxi and drove off I was so angry I wiped away tears. This is the second time this has happened I was mad And told the firm not to send him back. That put me on a down ward emotional spiral. And I picked and snacked all weekend. Yesterday I had an early Dr appointment I did not pre-book a cab, so I call 32 mins before. To be told "it's the rush hour you have to wait 30mins." I said no thanks forgot about my pain meds no time to take rollator out and opted to walk. When I was healthier it was a five minute walk. Cricky I used the walking stick like I was on a steep incline to help me move forward. I got there dead on time fighting back tears. Saw the doctor and flood of tears and talked about the pain. Instead of the allergies.

I was still so angry I walked home small steps. I was in so much pain I was physically sick. And again only after another box of "go-ahead" did I realise I was comfort eating. Then later I had a small glass of neat rum.

So todays weigh-in I had put on all I had managed to shed last week 4lbs. I am gutted, but today so far so good snacking on Apple's and water. And writing things down. Called a different taxi firm to get to S.W and starting to look into buying my own car or leasing I am so fed up.

That is so disgusting of that taxi firm to treat you that way. I hope the other firm you use are better to you. Some taxi drivers have no patients for people with mobility issues. I had one once who kept telling me to lose weight all the way to the hospital when I was using my walking sticks, so I know how you feel.

Hope you are feeling better today and have cheered up. If you are able to drive then maybe treating yourself to a car is your answer or a mobility scooter just to get around.

Hope the rest of the week is better for you, take care of yourself.

Thank you so much, I have felt a lot better today I was supposed to be looking for a scooter now I have a garage, but the slimming group I go to is in a different town. I need a scooter for local runs and a car for the hospital visits and longer journeys.

I was in tears this morning after the S.W session just the thought of getting a cab now fills me with anger and determination

Do you live in an area with a voluntary community transport organisation ? We are always recommending them to people as they are so helpful and often much cheaper compared to regular taxis :-) Hope you get it resolved !

Oh yes my mum used to use them, are they not for the elderly

Depends on your local organisation - our local ones are for anyone who struggles to use public transport due to mobility, age, locality etc. Maybe check your local ones out ?

Hi Fatpather, Unbelieveable with the stupid taxi drivers. I think you are amazing that you decided to walk that hard walk. My mother is in a wheelchair and has also had her share of stupid people putting her down or in embarassing situations. Although you had a bad weigh in remember we all have those times and you have taken back control so well done:) Hope you have a good week and weekend.

Thank you. I feel like I'm at the end of my tether.

I just had to 're-' read your message I didn't think I was amazing walking back just stubborn, as it involves a little path next too and under trees that I am allergic too which I went to the GP for in the first place. Lol stuck between a rock and a hard place. I've always been determined to do when others can't.

Thank you again.

Well all I can say is another a wonderful good on you. Most people would not do what you did. I mean walking when its so hard, then under trees which make you allergic. What you show is real determination when some of us would give up, so all I can say is a big thumbs up to you and that I admire what you did and what I think you can do. To me you are an inspiration so good luck and wishing you all the best:) :) xx

So sorry this has happened to you. You are struggling with so many things at the moment. Perhaps now is the time to deal with just one thing at a time. Maybe aim to maintain while you sort out the pain. And pain is exhausting so have a little nap in the day if you can. Do talk to your doctor about your emotional distress. When your body is running smoothly, it will be easier to drop the weight. In the meantime a healthy nutritious diet will help your body and mind to heal. Love and best wishes to you. 💖 keep in touch and let us know how you're doing.

Thank you so much, I wish I was wired to focus on one thing at a time. I will however try. Funny I was looking up massage and relaxation.
