Ketogenic Diet is really amazing
But not for everyone. Loads of contra-indications for peole with diabetes and high blood pressure to name but two. How long have you been doing it, sripriyasridharan ? Tell us more about yourself. Do you think it will really be sustainable? Most of us on here have learned over time that there are no quick fixes. A healthy, balanced range of foods, controlling calorie intake and portion size is more realistic (and enjoyable!) for most of us here. Good luck!
Not one I've ever heard of. But then, I'm always sceptical of anything with the word "diet" in it! Hence the reason I found a plan!
Rubbish! It is specifically useful for diabetics and very useful to help stop people becoming diabetics. listen to Dom D'Agostino - he knows his stuff and has teh creds
Welcome to the weight loss froum.
Never heard of the "Ketogenic Diet" but I would say the only best way to lose weight is with a healthy balanced food plan.
Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.
Have a look at the Daily Diary which you can find on the Home page in Events. It is where all the members are sharing their daily plans on what they are eating and any exercise they are doing. This thread will give you some ideas on how to start.
Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.
Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.
We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us today. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.

yes balaned - NO sugar, LOW carbs, MODERATE protein and HIGH saturated fats. It is SUGAR that is your enemy, NOT FAT
I watched a film called: "First do no Harm" a true story, in which this diet was a true benefit to the boy who had epilepsy.
The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used primarily to treat difficult-to-control (refractory) epilepsy in children.
I am not aware of it being promoted for a weight loss programme. But if you have epilepsy then it may be a benefit to you.
