How can i loose 3 stones in a month
Diet: How can i loose 3 stones in a... - Weight Loss Support
Diet
Hi and welcome, 13 jades
To be honest, that sounds virtually impossible to me and shouldn't be your main objective. We all aim for a healthy lifestyle, with a small, steady weight loss. Crash diets and rapid weight loss, just aren't sustainable and that's how we get trapped in a cycle of yoyo dieting.
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), or in the drop down on the 'Posts' page (it says 'arrange by'). Read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.
Take a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate.
To the right of the HOME page (bottom on a mobile), you'll find Events. In there, you'll find links to our daily Weigh-in's (you will choose just one day per week), our Daily Diary, where we post our menu and exercise plans, for accountability, advice and support and our “What's happening today” thread, where we pop in for a chat.
Be aware, that the HU app doesn't give you access to all of our important features, so we advise that you use the full website page.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too.
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
Sorry 13jades I don't believe that you can do that.
Changing lifestyles is a long game and losing weight as slowly as you put it on is the best way forward. There are loads of people on the forum who have lost loads of weight, but don't think anyone did it in a month.
In my case I lost 2 stones in about 6-8 weeks but I was very, very ill at the time and it certainly wasn't a good way to lose weight. It is making it very hard for me to lose even half a pound a week now.
Whatever is driving you to want to lose 3 stones in a month must be pretty important but alas there is no magic wand that I know of.
Good luck
Hi wow 42lb in a month would mean about 10lb a week this really isn't achievable nor is it sustainable, nhs recommends 1-2 lbs a week. You could reasonably lose 8-10lbs
Good luck xx
People on Bear Grylls island programme don't lose anywhere near that and they are basically starving. Sorry to disappoint!
As others have already stated, not only is your ambition impossible, it's also an incredibly dangerous ambition, particularly if you intend on reducing calorie intake to severely low levels in an attempt to achieve your goal, since you'll no doubt end up in hospital.
Sounds extreme, but it's not beyond the realms.
At best, on the assumption that you were fit enough to endure 4+ HIIT sessions on weekly basis (which would soon take its toll upon your body), in addition to reducing intake considerably, the best you could hope for would be a loss of 8-12lbs over the course of a month, depending upon current body weight.
Although no doubt inspiring and encouraging, don't believe everything that you may have witnessed on America's Biggest Loser (as the perfect advertisement in how weight loss ought to be achieved), since the methods employed are incredibly extreme, with focus wholly based upon achieving results in the immediate short-term, in the interests of show ratings, rather than providing contestants with the tools required to manage their weight in the longer-term.
This becomes clearly evident in the latter stages of the competition, when contestants return home, since the majority of those still in contention struggle to shed the same amount of weight when left largely to their own devices.
Moreover, while in the house, the daily intake and vital stats of contestants are continually monitored by medical professionals. Even then, the methods employed aren't the healthiest, when it comes to allowing the body to naturally adjust.
As such, whether you use the NHS BMI calculator or similar BMR/TDEE calculators on the internet, to begin to shed the excess, you need to know how many calories your body requires to maintain current weight, seeking to introduce a daily deficit of up to 500Kcal from maximum allowance/TDEE.
By ensuring that the deficit introduced doesn't exceed the difference between minimum/maximum allowances, on the assumption that exercise is also undertaken, which also includes regular HIIT, depending upon body weight, a reduction of 2-3lbs could be enjoyed on a weekly basis.
However, success also depends upon the severe restriction of refined sugars and simple carbohydrates, chiefly that of cakes, sweets and pastries, in addition to white varieties of bread, pasta, rice and potatoes.
Instead, opt for complex sources, such as lentils, quinoa, oats legumes (kidney/edamame) and non-starchy veg, for example, ensuring that they don't constitute more than 40% of daily intake, with the remainder made up of 30% protein and 30% fat.
Sorry. You can't. Read all of the above. Daisy1925
Maybe aim for a stone in 3 months? So it'd take bit less than a year to loose the weight you want. That would be brilliant and give you much greater chance of long term success.
It would be really dangerous to try and you'd get very disheartened if you tried to loose weight faster than this.
I'm on week 10 of the NHS 12 week plan and I have almost lost a stone. Because I'm counting calories and thinking about what I'm eating it will be much easier to carry on and make it part of my life which by now it's starting to feel like it. The tips in the plan help you develop healthy habits eating fibre, protein, veg a balanced diet and exercise. This does work long term. Good luck
My first question is why do you want to lose 3 stone in one month? I know I want to lose heaps of weight quickly to fit into all those lovely clothes but reality is that its better to go slow. I wish there was a magic wand out there but the next best thing is this site, use it and then you will lose it but over a realistic time.
