I am feeling so down

I don't know why I can't sleep today. For the last few days I haven't done well at all. I get upset with every thing and every one in the house. I can't stop eating and I am picking in all thinks I get my hand into.

I am doing all wrong for my little one. Instead of really take care of every thing I give up on all I have to do. Ugghhh.

Hi Yuly you sound like you have a lot on your plate at the moment, have you got family and friends who could look after the children for an hour or so just so you can do something you want to, a walk, swimming, jogging even a long soak in the bath, paint your nails, sometimes with having children we forget we also need attention.

Have you been and checked with your doctor you could be a little under the weather, please don't get upset if it's not all just falling into place, life is full of struggles you will feel better, try to relax your mind set, a little bit at a time, you are trying to change a lifetimes habits it's going to take time.

Hi Yuly

It's not easy losing weight or trying to start an exercise regime. Take things slowly.

I agree with Kat. Can someone look after kids for a few hours a couple of days a week so you can get some time in for yourself?

Keep us posted on how your doing cos we want to help 🤡

Sounds like you need a bit of me time Yuly . Do something you love and spoil yourself a bit. Get out into the fresh air and go for a long walk, you'll feel great for it. It will give you more energy and some sunshine is great to boost a low mood. Stay positive, you'll soon regain control. Have a lovely Easter x

Morning Yuly

Sorry to hear your having a rough time at the moment, try not too upset yourself. Family life can be testing at times and we all get those bad days when we want to eat everything in sight.

Your not doing it all wrong because your here trying to improve your health. You have not given up or you would not have posted here, so please try not to get upset. We are all here to support you along your weight loss journey and you can do this a little at a time. Start by planning todays meals and take it one day at a time and one meal at a time. Why not take the little one to the park, the walk will be good exercise for you and they will have fun too.

Have a lovely weekend.

Yuly, my heart goes out to you. Although it's many, many years since my kids were small (they're both in their 40s now!) I DO remember how hard it is sometimes, especially when you are trying to watch your weight too. When you're feeling down it's all too easy to use food as a comfort prop. As Rose has already said, you're on the right track! The fact you're posting here means you're acknowledging your difficulties. Don't beat yourself up, instead, if you can, every time you feel yourself think a negative thought, or feel like shouting, instead TAKE A GOOD, DEEP BREATH! Really, it does help, then replace that negative thought with something positive. It may be something very simple you could say, perhaps instead of 'I haven't done all I should do' say 'I HAVE done something I should today!' Which may be something as simple as feeding your children, washing and dressing them? You have to start with the basics and work up from there. If you just do ONE thing you feel needs doing then that's a step in the right direction!

Just a thought; have you set yourself an unrealistic target with your weight loss? Have you set yourself a calorie limit for the day? I ask, because my calorie limit originally was 1200 per day, but I was always hungry, and feeling really grouchy, biting off everyone's head, not to mention raiding the naughty cupboard! Just take things in very small steps at a time - you CAN improve, keep posting, you'll get lots of support here, we're all behind you willing you on! Best of luck my lovely.

My calorie limit is 1400 but I have already fall off the wagon several times for the last week and a half.

I wasn't to hungry I think is more that I can't fully concentrate on myself, like I really need a week off sometimes, does that make sense?

Hi Yuly

I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling down. Mood and weight loss are so bound up together. We feel down so comfort ourselves with food and then feel even worse about ourselves and then eat even more because we've blown it for today so we'll start again tomorrow - a right royal vicious circle.

It maybe that you have an underlying depression and might be in need of some help and support from your GP. It is hard to tackle weight loss if you are not in the right place mentally. Food can be an addiction just like alcohol and you might find tackling your problems just one day at a time helps. Just for today you can ... add here whatever it is you think you can achieve in one day. Start with little steps.

The fact that you are here on this website seeking help is a good thing and everyone will be rooting for you. Try just to think about eating healthily, looking after yourself gently. With a family to look after you are going to be pretty busy but if you can get the odd short walk in that will help mentally, physically and spiritually.

I hope today is better.

Thank you to all of you I need bit of time I guess.

I have tried to talk with a doctor but I don't have good response. Last time I went to the GP about a year ago the doctor told me to go back to my country to see a specialist.... It is a long story I don't think Gp's are good enough anymore, so if I need something from them I just call to visit the nurse.

I know I have lots to think and when you have children it is more difficult to think about yourself.

Yuly, so sorry to hear you are not getting good support from your doctor, that's really not helpful saying something like that.....

Can I ask how old are your children? Also, is there a community centre anywhere near you that has 'drop-in' sessions for parents and children? Do you have any other family members other than your children living nearby? It really sounds as though you need a support network locally. Keep posting Yuly, you will get lots of encouragement and support here, but also maybe pick up a local paper or parish magazine, where you may find information about support networks.

Best of luck my lovely. xxx
