Operation looming 😞

Need to lose 3 stone for an operation. I suffer from rheumatoid Arthritis and have for 20 years. My hip needs replacing again after 14 years of having the first op. I'm not very good at planning meals so tend to go for takeaways or the usual crisps, biscuits and chocolate. I'm going to need lots of advice, so if you have any tips or tricks please let me know. Thanks in advance x

Hi NannyJ

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbies post in the pinned post section on the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. The post includes information on the nhs 12 week plan and a BMI checker to work out your daily allowance.

Feel free to join in with any of the challenges also found in the pinned post section. They are good for keeping us motivated and active.

We have a weigh-in every day from Monday to Saturday, but at the moment Monday to Wednesday are full. You are very welcome to join us any day from Thursday to Saturday. The weigh-in post can be found in the Events section on the Home page on the right.

I wish you luck with your weight loss journey.

Hi NannyJ and welcome.

As YellowRose55 pointed out, there is the NHS 12 week plan (I'm in week 4). Who can say whether it will be a fit for you but it seems to have focused a number of people here and has certainly helped me to reach this point.

I'll probably sound like a stuck record for those who may have seen my responses before but it may help to see this as a lifestyle change for yourself rather than a diet.

Good luck!

I hope you find it helps. I find it quite difficult to exercise, which doesn't help 😁

I can't exercise at all at the moment and I thought it would take ages to lose but it hasn't made any difference it's coming off and I'm thrilled Good luck πŸ˜‰
