Lone atrial fibrillation, female in my fifties
Hi 5759,
Welcome to the NHS weight loss forum. Have you read our Welcome Newbies post? It's in the Pinned posts area, top right-hand-side of the homepage, and it's worth a read to tell you all about the things that are going on here.
Regarding atrial fibrillation, I don't know if anyone has that, but I do know there is a community in HU called the AF community, and you would find lots of people with the condition in that community, if you're looking for extra support regarding your condition:

Arrhythmia Alliance is another community that might be of interest to you.
Anyway, you are very welcome in this community - and I'd recommend the NHS 12 week plan as a really good way to lose weight, and many of us are following that plan.
Wishing you a great week ahead.

Hi, my hubby is 53 & was diagnosed with artrial fibrillation a few years ago. He has recently started the Couch to 5k programme (just started week 6), & has been trying to limit his intake of junk food. He's slowly loosing weight, but is finding lots of benefit in the running - hes not as breathless now, his heart rate lowers and he feels physically more able to do things without worrying about his heart all the time. If you dont feel up to running at the moment, start with short walks and gradually build up your time. You might get to the same point i did of may as well try jogging, then can cover same distance, but quicker. Oh - one more thing, hubby did get checked by GP shortly after starting running, was given an inhaler to help with slight tightness in his chest (exercise induced asthma, nothing to do with AF). Might be worth checking with your own GP before you start anything too strenuous. Good luck & hope this helps x
