End of week 3 - amazing and so many of you still sticking with it. You're a third of the way through now. You've done some groundwork, now time to build up a bit if stamina. It is great fun, very good for you and I think you're all brilliant for giving it a go!

Hi Gareth, you've got one third of the programme already covered! Well done! More running and less walking in the weeks to come, but you can do this! Slow an steady🏃🏃🏃🏃

Good luck all of youx

Just finished w2r2...will run again tomorrow and start w3 next week so one week behind but it's going well. I feel I could run longer but I can't speed up my walking in-between. I just love to dawdle!

Read your post this morning...was feeling a bit low in motivation. Put my running gear on and went for a 2.5mile run. Through long wet grass and muddy puddles. Totally different mindset when I finished......thank you

Hi all,

I just completed run 3 this morning and have to admit that I'm way off the C25K guidelines!

As you may remember, I couldn't download the "Laura" podcast and was less than enamoured with the app. I've been timing myself with my daughter's garmin, using the seconds counter to advise me when to walk/run. On thursday, I arrived at my run location and realised I'd forgotten my reading glasses! In the early morning gloom, I had no hope of being able to see all the times, so I just ran! 30 mins later, when the sun had come up a bit more, I was able to see that I'd covered a distance of 3.2K's. Not exactly speedy, but I was thrilled to have been able to run for the whole 30 mins! :D

I didn't mention it at the time, for fear of it being a fluke! However, I ran for 30 mins again today and this time covered 3.35K's! I'm hoping to be able to continue to improve by 0.15K's/run, my ultimate goal to be able to complete my home (hilly) circuit of 5.12K's in 30 mins. It may be pie in the sky, but there's no harm trying! :)

Whilst I don't advocate this type of maverick behaviour for anyone else, it seems to be working for me. It goes without saying, that if at any time I feel it's too much, or I have any pain, or discomfort, then I shall backtrack!

Thank you Gareth and everyone else, for your support and encouragement. I can't tell you what it means to me, to have been able to achieve this! Who'd have thought an obese 59 yr old, with arthritis, could have become a runner! WOW! I'm on cloud nine! :)

Keep up the great work, fellow runners. We rock!! :)

Hi Moreless,

Wow, what an inspiring post, and you've done so well with your runs. Really great!!! You definitely rock!!!

Hope you're still enjoying being on Cloud 9, that sounds like an excellent place to be!!!

I've still got my Week 3 Run 3 to do - hopefully later today, but it's been raining, and I must admit I'm not feeling all that motivated!!! But I noticed how greeny4 found a better mind-set through running, and so hopefully that will happen to me too if I push myself to actually do it.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Lowcal :-)

Hi Moreless! I don't want to dampen your spirits, and it's brilliant that you can now run for 1/2 an hour, but we all recommend you stick to the programme to avoid injury! That way your muscles build up gradually and horrid things like shin splints don't come along. You've obviously already got the stamina. Plus it's more sustainable that way and you tend to keep your motivation!

Sorry to be a party pooper!

Hi everyone,

I've managed to do my Week 3 Run 3 this afternoon. I feel so much better for doing it, so I am glad I managed to get out and do it. It's an overcast day, it was raining earlier, but I managed to catch a dry spell - just quite humid really.

I'm looking forward to next week.

Hope everyone has had a great Sunday so far.

Lowcal :-)
