So as it is Easter Sunday & officially Easter egg day it is time to collect the results of the Easter Bunny Challenge. I know some of you will want to wait until Mondays weigh-in which is of course fine
As you may recall my challenge was to only eat the Lindt bunny once I'd lost another stone. So far I have lost 6.5lb so the bunny is safe for a little while longer.
I'm loving that picture! I seriously admire your willpower in regards to your bunny! I've no doubts at all that it ought to be getting worried though - you're almost half way!
I weighed in at 15,4 this morning so just 1lb off my target and I'm happy with that. Brings my total loss for the challenge to 13lbs and 13lbs since the start of the year.
Now I just need to keep it up, to get to 14,13 for my birthday in a couple of weeks...
Many Congratulations on losing 6.5 pounds, that is fantastic! Really good progress, and I hope you're feeling good. I know your Easter bunny is safe for a little while longer, but it won't be long before the bunny's time is up, as like Garfield_123 says, you're almost half-way there! That bunny's days are numbered!
I am going to wait till tomorrow to share my results, but I am very happy with how things are going - and I was in a dilemma as to whether to share today or tomorrow, but I'll wait till tomorrow, as I usually share my weight on a Monday at the Monday group weigh-in, and I have a feeling if I do it a day early, then somehow I might 'ease up' on my focus, hence I'll report back here tomorrow, after my Monday weigh-in.
This Challenge has been amazing, and it couldn't have come at a better time. I know I've been saying that a few times this weekend, but it is so true! It's easy to lose focus and be distracted at challenging times like celebratory occasions, and having a challenge like this to work towards is amazing. So thank you so much, Sue, for setting this up and motivating us. I'm glad you're considering another challenge after this, as it will be fantastic to have that continuity.
Will be back tomorrow with my own results.
Good luck to everyone! Have a lovely remainder of the weekend.
I'm back again, and I am very pleased to report that I've lost 3 pounds this week, so my weight today is 12 stone 11.8 pounds!!! My goal for the Easter bunny challenge was to get to 12 stone 12 pounds, and I was that weight yesterday, and today I'm a little bit less, so I'm thrilled! I am sure I wouldn't have achieved this without this great Challenge, and it really helped me to focus and get through the weekend, so many many thanks!
I'm going to 'pin' your post today, so that people can find it easily, as it's slipped down the posts - and I know there'll be quite a few others who will be coming here to post their updates.
Hi Aqua. As long as we keep plodding on we are making progress even if we don't always hit our targets I'm just hoping to hit the stone before the bunny's sell by date passes
Agree with all the replies here, you are still standing, and we're standing with you - keep at it, we'll get there! I didn't make target either, was 2 pounds short. Onwards and downwards, we can do this! xx
I am still nearly 5lb short of my total weight loss aim of 1 stone and 7lb. Had I left my target at 1 stone, I would have been able to eat the bunny or in my case a small Easter egg with baby eggs inside.
However, I am working like a demon on the Voyager, doing 2:1 high intensity every hour and dancing with Donna for 20 minutes every 2 hours today. My own Easter challenge is to get rid of all the fluid I seem to have collected in my joints over the last 4 days. So you never know by tomorrow at magic 11am weigh in......if I can still walk and get on the scales, I may be back to only being 3lb short so by Thursday well you never know Pigs might fly lol.....unless I decide to cheat and go for a full starvation fast with no fluids for the next 20 hours
Right where are all my old tablets purchased to assist, they may be useful after all.
Hi The Hud, 1st 2lb is fab progress Sadly we just have to give our bodies time to recover when we have over done it but at least you know some of the weight is simply fluid and not fat.
If you make any extra progress tomorrow be sure to let us know
Thanks, I will no doubt about it. It has to be fluid or i shall have a mega tantrum because it means I have put on 2lb in the last 24 hours. maybe I have started sleep walking and eating lol
It was pretty tough - well that last mile was! I bet you could (or will be able) to do it. As you may have seen last January I couldn't walk 1km but slowly and surely I am getting there
I think a few more stone need to disappear from me yet...hoping that will mean less pain and a chance to walk a mile a day like I used to - that would do me for now! 10 miles is but a distant (and possibly unrealistic) dream. For now...but I rule nothing out a couple of years down the line, who knows?!
Only you will know when you are ready WW. I was 24+ stone when I started walking. I have chronic pain and there were days I really struggled but within 4 months I managed a 6km walk
Thanks Moreless, I really need to man up lol Easter Bunny challenge not achieved, but, although not posted yet, my 11am weigh in time has changed to noon due to the the hour going on. So at 12 noon exactly I weighed in at 14stone and 0.4lb, happy with that, but no bunny 2.6lb short of my target of 1 stone and 7lb for me to eat my little egg. May just substitute my before bed dark choccy square treat for bits of it over the week
I'm a pound under 13st - so I got ny target (to be honest though this is using the dodgy bathroom scales at the boyfriend's so in all likelihood it'll have gone up when I do the proper weigh in tomorrow ) Well to everyone else even if you didn't hit your target - have a good easter
Missed my target by 1 1/2 pounds. And have now shot back up due to a piggy holiday in France. Oh well, we all need new targets and hopefully it will come off as quickly as it went on!
I hear you, missed mine by 2 pounds and I only set 7 pounds, which isn't that much over a month for an obese person like me! Overall, we accumulated a loss, and that's the main thing, we're getting something right!
Poor bunny is in serious danger now. Not long, bunny, not long...
I am totally over the moon and delighted to report that I met my goal! Despite injuring a hip flexor last week when I first tried to run (oh, reminder, my goal was to be somewhere on the C25K programme, even if it was Day 1), I decided to give it another try on Friday - and I survived with no hip flexor pain. I didn't quite do the full 8 running intervals, but I managed 5.
So today, I decided to try and do the full 8 intervals in my third attempt - and I did it! YAY!!!! I am now officially on the C25K programme - YESSSSSS!
Brilliant! Well done you! I started the programme in January and I'm going to attempt my first 10k tomorrow. Once you've got the bug it'll never let you rest - a great weight burner too!
Haha your picture made me laugh. Well done for losing 6.5lbs. Sorry the bunny didn't get eaten today but sure it won't be long before it gets unwrapped and eaten.
The settling in period with Miss Fizz and Mr Fizz has been my focus and its been a great success. Tomorrow Mr Fizz is back to work and I can focus on healthy eating for me and the family. I've done a menu plan, which is half the battle.
Glad all is going well with Miss Fizz and understandable that has had to be your main focus
I am doing a size rather than weight challenge next. So the challenge will be to try to into a tight item of clothing or maybe just his a particular measurement. I'll start working on it next week.
Morning. I aimed to lose a stone and be 10st 12lb. Today I weigh 11st 4.4lb so I have massively failed haha (but I still weigh 7.6lb less than at the start of the challenge so I win)
Some of us didn't hit target, but we still lost weight, so it's all good, we're going in the right direction so we are all doing great - keep going!
Morning Sueper and thank you for this challenge- its taught me that i can actually have chocolate in the fridge and not eat it lol- although I'm pleased to say that the kinder egg has now bitten the dust! Well i started the challenge at 16.9 my goal was 15.9 but I'm now 14.11 so thats 1 stone 12 gone (if my Maths is up to scratch) so really pleased with that : )
My target was to lose 12lbs and yes it was very ambitious and should have been achievable but after my piggery since Thursday I am right back where I started oops but I haven't had any chocolate lol
Well done for losing 6.5lbs, I know you've had to work hard for that! I bet bunny is breathing a sigh of relief!
I hit one part of my target, which was to be averaging 20K's/day, which I've managed for the last 4 weeks, however, I believe it was to the detriment of my other goal, which was to get into the 14's. I'm not really disappointed though, as I'm 15st 1.25lbs today, which means I've lost a stone since the challenge started and that's not to be sniffed at!
Thanks so much for this challenge Sue, it's definitely kept us all on track and I can't wait for the next challenge, I have my item of clothing picked out already
It's a bit sad really isn't it?! Here we are trying to get fit and healthy and are bodies are fighting us all the way! Oh well, I guess it's the same as everything else, treading a fine line and striking a balance
OMG! Are we going to have to fess up to the inches??!!
Oh thank goodness! I thought that might be a step too far! I don't know how I'm going to measure the inches though, because I want to get into a skirt that I can't get up over my legs yet!!
You could measure the skirt open to its widest and then your widest bit and that might give you an idea. But I think the challenge will be for each person to decide how they will measure their progress - main point being to make some progress
I am really missing my smileys - do we know why they have stolen them?
Maybe I could draw lines on my legs with magic marker, so I'll know if I'm getting the skirt higher!
I hate not having the smileys too! Lowcal has reported them and has been told that they're working on them! I have no idea how long it's going to take to fix them
Drawing lines on your legs sounds like a fab idea Moreless - can you hear the sarcasm in my typing lol?! Truly though you may need to find a way of measuring it so you know you are making progress
Glad to hear Lowcal is on the case with the smileys
I am planning for it to go on until October so plenty of time. I have a wedding in October and that is why I decided to do it. I think some people may manage a few items by then but others (probably me) will only maybe do one (please let me do the one).
It should then lead us back into the xmas challenge!
Oh that's perfect! I'm hoping that by October, I shall fit into most of the clothes in my wardrobe. There will only be a few ridiculously small items left for me to shrink into
I have a wedding in December and am hoping to fit into the ridiculously small by then!
Wowzers, what a fab result! I was looking for you when I first came on here but I couldn't find you. I fear you turned sideways and disappeared! So happy for you, you are doing amazingly well, very big congratulations on everything you are achieving, it's brill!
Brilliant loss ML a whole stone gone and with all the exercise you have been doing I would think you have gain quite a bit of muscle, which of course weighs more than fat. Xx
I would love to think that was the case Ros, as the weight loss has slowed down considerably. I am aware of muscle definition, under the fat, that didn't use to be there!
My weight loss has really slowed down now JP, so I envisage it taking at least a couple of weeks to get into the 14's. Plenty of time for you to catch up and overtake
Haha I doubt it moreless! Your so...... focussed! I'd luv to be as determined as you! I think I've been overweight so long it just doesn't want to budge!!!
I must admit I used to find it easier to lose weight when I was younger! I wonder if there's any truth in that?
Oh my gosh JP, I could guarantee losing a stone in a fortnight! I did it frequently! Then it got more difficult after having the kids and has continued to get more difficult as I've got older
Hmmm...... I know what you mean! You're doing great tho! Your an inspiration to us all! Haha I'm gonna try to keep up! But not with your exercise - too old n decrepit for that (well maybe not! Just too many injuries!) 😁
Yeah the more you exercise the hungrier you're going to get. I suppose you could up your calories a little because you'll be burning more calories won't you? Or cut your exercise a little! I can't run or anything because I broke my left ankle years ago and had screws in for eighteen months before having them removed. It was also dislocated so it gives me a lot of trouble 😞 it annoys me as much as anything!! How much more weight do you want to lose?
Ouch, your ankle sounds horrible! Much as I'd like to be able to run, I can't see it happening, because of the arthritis in my feet. It's painful enough for walking.
I'd like to be able to get just under 11st, which would be the top end of normal weight for me. I almost managed it 11 years ago, but I shall have to see how I get on. It's more than 4st though.
Poor you arthritis isn't good - my older sisters just been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and she's in a lot of pain, my younger sisters got arthritis in her wrists so I'm expecting it too! I'm supposed to be between 9st 3 and up to 12st higher level! I'm 5ft 10 so I think just over 9st would be too low! I'd be happy at 12st! That's still over 3st to lose! Eek! 😁
Gosh, you're tall too! I think these weights are ridiculous. There's no way I'd be able to get down to the lower end of healthy, which for me is 8st 3lbs. That's even less than my daughter weighs and she's a skinny minnie!
I hope you don't get either form of arthritis, because it's a real pain! Literally and figuratively.
I think the lower end of healthy weights are ridiculous too! I'd look anorexic at just over 9st! I keep saying to my younger sister that I worry just how little I will actually have to eat to get to my ideal weight!
I hope I don't get arthritis too, but the surgeon who operated on my ankle said its inevitable!
My husband's bought me a bicycle! Should be fun, as I haven't rode one for at least 15 years!! I dare'nt tell him I'm a little scared of the traffic nowadays! 😁
I think that the sensible thing for us to do, is keep going the way we are and if our bodies decide that a particular weight is right for them, then we have to accept it and live with it and concern ourselves with health and fitness, rather than skinnyness!
At least you've managed to get thus far with no signs of arthritis, so fingers crossed that it holds off for a good while yet.
How marvellous to be given a bike! I know what you mean about the traffic though. Are there any quiet roads, or cycle tracks near you, that you can use to start with, just until you gain your confidence?
Yeah I'll know when I'm happy with my weight! I need to get out of obese first! 😁 onwards and downwards!
As for the bike! We live in a valley - every way out is up!! Haha I think I may chuck my bike in the back of hubbys's van to start with and find a nice quiet country lane! Haha I got on it and I felt so high up!!! I felt like I was on a horse! 😂
Hi Jester- i totally agree with you i'm 5ft 10 too and if i go below 10 stones i look seriously ill so just like you i'm aiming for a healthy 12 stones (2 stone 11 to go) but i honestly dont know where they get these healthy weight range numbers from???- it truly baffles me tbh
Hi Marmite, yes the lower healthy weight range is ridiculous! I've a long road ahead as it is so I definitely won't be aiming for just over 9st! I'll know when I get there! 😁 Good luck 😄
Hi everyone, I hope you all had a good Easter and that it didn't decimate your targets too much for the Easter Challenge!
Sueper, your 6.5 pounds beats me hands down, very well done on your progress so far - keep going, the bunny WILL get it soon enough!
After a bit of diary searching and the usual confusion about what date I actually set my target (note to self: FOR GOODNESS SAKES, WRITE IT ALL DOWN WOMAN!), I managed to lose 5 of the 7 pounds I aimed for. It's a wee bit disappointing, but it makes perfect sense, I had a couple of weeks where I gained and a couple where I lost. The gains were smaller than the losses at least, so that the overall result was a loss of 5 pounds. To be honest, I am now very relieved that there aren't any Birthdays, Mothers Day, Easter, etc until the end of May because I need a rest from having naughty food around!
5lb is a great loss - well done! I know exactly what you mean about being relived there are no birthdays etc although I am away next weekend. I could do with a whole year of nothing interesting happening and I would be like Kate Moss lol!
lol, well, a rolling stone gathers no Kate Moss. I have no idea what that means but it sounded good in my head lol! Oh bother, must dash for now, that guy in the white coat is knocking at my door again...
Sueper, 6.5 lb loss is great, we all struggle and you will have the last laugh on your Easter bunny, actually the last bite 😀😀
My goal was not to eat the grandchildren's choccie eggs (I didn't) and to be at or very near 10 st 7 lbs by Easter. Weight yesterday (and today) is 10st 7.8lbs, so managed the 'very near' bit - very happy with that even if it meant no chocolate at all and no hot cross buns. Definitely worth it 😀😀😀
Thanks Sueper. It seems the longer I don't have chocolate, the easier it gets not to bother about it, so no, the eggs turned out not too much temptation. The fact that I really fancied fish and chips from the chippy, not home made, was the temptation last week, but I didn't have it. Every time I was tempted to eat something unhealthy, I did some more of the jigsaw to keep my mind and hands busy, it's nearly finished so I've been tempted lots! 🍟🍟🍰🍦🍩🍔
Happy Easter everyone!! Very impressed with your challenge results here!! And a little envious!! How did you do it?! First time I've set a real time scale challenge like that and I failed miserably!! I lost a few pounds and gained a few pounds and I'm back at 10 and half stone! My target was 9 stone. Doh!! You guys show me that it can be done though...
Hi Moti-vacation. Don't be too hard on yourself I can't seem to hit a time scale challenge either! That is why I decided that the bunny would get eaten at a stone loss - I knew I wouldn't do it by Easter but it will happen!
Keeping plugging away and I am sure you will get there
Look out for the next challenge which may suite you better!
Hi Sueper, I know I said I wanted to lose a stone for the Easter Bunny challenge, but I'm not sure if I meant a stone in total or a stone from where I was then! Duh!
Well I lost a stone anyway! I haven't done much since then though! I've not had a good couple of weeks! 😞 I'm ready for another challenge though! 😊
I did manage to get below the magical 73kg but am back up after the weekend to 73.8 😞 I'm not sure where I was when I started the challenge, I think 74.2 so still 400g down over three weeks, 😕 Must do better!!! 😜
Well done for getting down to 73kg, shame the weekend caused it to sneak up - I am sure it will come back off. You are still going down and that is what counts
