Hi FizzyLiz,

I love your new name - very effervescent and full of life - really positive name, very apt. I also love the photo of Angor Wat - beautiful. :-) I am looking forward to our visit there. I must ensure I have some kms to report back by the end of the day - so I'll be off to walk some steps as and when I get opportunity today!

Will be back later to report back my results.

Lowcal :-)

Today is going to be a big fat zero km unless I get out and brave that howling gale - perhaps I should pin a photo of Ricky onto the dog's bum...

I was fine til I got to the top of the hill and nearly got blown right of my feet! A woman with a double buggy turned out of a farm track ahead of me and got blown right across the road! We had to get her back to the track, post haste! :o

I got the dog back today. I had an umbrella.....he didn't!

Was he blowing soggily on the end of his lead like a kite? :D

13.66km for yesterday

Well done Darren, I was beginning to think everyone was just here for the craic! :D

I love that picture Lizzy! I also lost my internet connection yesterday before getting a chance to comment on our stats. I get more gobsmacked each week. It seemed like such a tall order to be able to clock up 501K's every day, but we're absolutely blowing that total out of the water! It's a staggering achievement by ordinary people doing extraordinary things. I'm so proud to be part of this team of intrepid travellers. WTG everyone, you rock!! :)

My totals today are

Walking - 6.2

Cycling - 10.8

Total - 17K's

I haven't had a go on my rower, because my shoulder hurts and I don't want to mess things up for later :D

in reply to moreless

Ooh what's happening later ? 😉 Trying to book a suitable act for the steamer tonight. Ricky needs time to recover 😂😱😁

moreless profile image
morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to

WHAT??!! But I was saving myself for Ricky now that Lucca's blown away! :o

It better be someone good then! ;)

in reply to moreless

Do you watch Graham Norton? Jack Savoretti was on it the other week - very lovely 🙄😍 He's an option or there is Michael Buble? Either of those?

in reply to

Oh you can keep Michael Bubble...

Oh yes, Jon Bon Jovi will do nicely! :)

in reply to moreless

Hmm - he improved after the hair cut, but overall you can have him :-)

Jolly decent of you old bean.

I'd better get myself tarted up then, cos he's still a few years younger than me! :D

in reply to

Buble doesn't look appealing on the beach 😳

in reply to

Not just on the beach...

in reply to moreless

I can hear you :x

I would think so, it's only a nose you're missing :D

A nose ?

in reply to moreless

Ok - I get you :-) My brain can't cope with cross referencing different threads. And I obviously missed your whole celebration with Elissy about me being blown away :x (Getting the hang of these now !!) :-D

Angkor Watt - I was lucky enough to work there back in the day.

7.9 km for me. Massive waves, howling wind, roaring fires. perfect holiday.

moreless profile image
morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to Gonti

Wow Gonti, you were really lucky :)

It's not quite the sunkissed beach, turquoise water and hammock that most people hanker after, but it sounds perfect to me too :)

2.8 for me today. Just ordered a fitbit as I think that my ancient (almost as old as those temples!) pedometer isn't counting everything. That's my story and I'm sticking to it...

moreless profile image
morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to Saga66

I can believe that Saga! The only time mine recorded steps, was when I was in the car!! :o

in reply to moreless

Perhaps you have a Flintstones car :-)

moreless profile image
morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to

I think that would be the perfect exercise machine, at least I'd be able to fetch my messages and have somewhere to put the dog on the road and I wouldn't have to have my pockets bulging with emergency items :D

Hi Lizzy, Moreless & Everyone,

My results for today (Tuesday 26th January 2016) are as follows:

Walking: 9.5 kms.

Lowcal :-)

moreless profile image
morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to Zest

That's a great number Lowcal, you were obviously much braver than Lucca, who wimped out after 2.3K's! :D

in reply to moreless

Hey - see Sueper's post below. She can obviously verify what the weather was like here today - coastal gales and all that ! :-)

Evening :-) I braved the dog walk for all of 2.3k before retreating back inside :-)

moreless profile image
morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to

I thought you'd become a batty tumbleweed and were being blown all over your neighbourhood! :D

I take it that even the pic of Ricky on the dog's bum wasn't enough of a carrot :D

in reply to moreless

It blew away after 1.2k :-D

moreless profile image
morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to

Pity you didn't chase after it, you could have broken all the records! :D

I am amazed, that is a stunning view.

I worked out hard today and clocked up another personal best 19.73kms!

moreless profile image
morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to LessToLose

WOOHOO! You're after toppling Prin off her perch now aren't you?! :)

WTG you! That's fantastic :)

LessToLose profile image
LessToLoseRestart April 2024 in reply to moreless

I don't think I could manage that, LOL!

And thank you (and well done for braving the weather, it is decidedly ugh at the moment).

moreless profile image
morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to LessToLose

Never say never LtL :D

I was actually quite lucky with the weather. It was really windy, but the rain stopped and the sun came out!

I was all bundled up like Nanook of the North and ended up having to take my jumper off! :)

sueper profile image

Hi,

I hope you don't mind but I took a virtual detour today and ended up walking across the Sea Cliff Bridge NSW Australia. It was rather pleasant and took about 25 minutes :)

Unfortunately it was hissing down again here in rainy Devon so I decided to do a virtual walk. Tried walking on the spot but it is quite tiring so ended up wandering around the house like a mad woman! Hubby wandered off bored after about 3 minutes.

By my calculations I did about 2km but no idea really :)

in reply to sueper

I sympathise sueper - twas horrible weather here today :-(

moreless profile image
morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to sueper

Hahaha! I remember doing that when my exercise bike broke Sueper. I nearly walked a track in the kitchen floor! :D

10/10 for initiative :)

12.8 km today (Tuesday). More pottering around the office so a bit higher than yesterday. Still far too inactive at work though.

moreless profile image
morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to JaySeeSkinny

Still a great number JC, maybe you should mention to your manager that in the interest of preventing repetitive strain injury, all employees should walk for 1K every hour :)

JaySeeSkinny profile image
JaySeeSkinny in reply to moreless

I'm sure he wouldn't mind. As long as the work gets done!

moreless profile image
morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to JaySeeSkinny

There you go then! :)

JaySeeSkinny profile image
JaySeeSkinny in reply to moreless

Might make for a bit of a long day. Wouldn't have time for my walk after work. Counter-productive!

moreless profile image
morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to JaySeeSkinny

1hr 15 mins max and probably not that long, because it would have the effect of making you more efficient at your job in order to get home :D

JaySeeSkinny profile image
JaySeeSkinny in reply to moreless

Is that what you do?

moreless profile image
morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to JaySeeSkinny

I don't work any more, but when I did, I was on my feet for a minimum of 9 hrs a day. I was always super efficient, or I'd have been there a lot longer! :D

Hi all. Tuesday kms - me 7.1kms pottering and dragging my rain fearing dog out in the storm!!! Jog-on - 27.2kms - 7km steps at work, 6.5 cross trainer, 4.2 treadmill, 4.5 rowing and 5 walking the rain loving dogs :)

Hope the storm doesn't affect our journey - I get really travel sick (might help lose a few lbs tho...) ;)

Happy travels peeps :D

moreless profile image
morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to Fitforit75

Wow, you and your dogs are doing a great job and how clever to split the teams :D

Hi Lizzy!

I managed a total of 27.6 km Tuesday. 26.6 in spin class and 1 km on the cross trainer.

Thanks :)

morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to

Hi Geza, it's great that you've decided to join us, especially as you clock up some stupendous K's!! ;)

Welcome aboard! :)

in reply to moreless

Thanks! All part of the training for my 106 km trek in April :)

moreless profile image
morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to

That's going to be epic! :)

in reply to moreless

Sure is. 24 hours continuous walking around the Isle of Wight. I did a 100 km in April last year, but it took me 31 hours. I'm 2 1/2 stone lighter this time (so far) and have done so much more training.

moreless profile image
morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to

I'm in awe! The most I've managed is 16K's, which is pretty feeble! :o

in reply to moreless

Not at all! I think any amount is a feat. It's too easy to be lazy. I should know, I was the ultimate lazy boy not so long ago. I wasn't active and ate mainly junk and takeaways. 16k to me back then would have sounded a world away.

moreless profile image
morelessAdministrator7 stone in reply to

I was the same, it was an effort to get as far as the toilet! :D

I'm now gradually upping my daily K's, thanks mainly to the motivation of FizzyLiz's threads :)
