Friday weigh in.

Last week 12.3 st, this week 12. 7st 😣 I knew it wouldn't be a good week and nearly bailed out of the weigh in but needed to face my demons! With school end of term celebrations and a visit to my parents with wine and food on tap it was inevitable it would be a gain! Next week I will get back on track (it's more difficult with the kids off!) but will really try as then it's two weeks on holiday. Wish me luck! I hope everyone else's week is going more successful! x

Hi Juliet,

Sorry it's been a rough week but you faced the scales and know why, life is for living and I'm sure end of term celebrations is the same for teachers yahoo for the holidays !!

Hope you have a good week, even to stay the same is a gain in my book.

Thanks Flossie it's been an emotional one as my eldest left infant school but as you say life is for living and we can't always be good. Hope you are doing well. ☺

Well done for getting through last week, as I know it was an emotional one for you - with your eldest leaving infant school. You're brave to face your weigh-in today, so well done for doing that, and at least you know why you've had a gain this week - all that food and wine on tap at an emotional time is definitely challenging, and I think few of us would be able to resist if faced with similar circumstances.

That gain should soon come off again relatively quickly if you get back on track straight away.

Wishing you luck for this week, and hopefully you'll have a better week ahead.

Thanks Lowcal, it will be good to get back on track as I feel the excess health wise. (Then there's the holiday to cope with!) I hope your week is going well and wishing you another successful weigh in ☺

Hi Juliet,

At least you know that the holiday is going to be more challenging than your usual routine, so it's a good opportunity to consider some strategies to help you cope with it. Thinking specifically about what issues might come up, and having some pre-planned strategies to try out in response to those issues might help you get through it.

My week is going ok so far, but I didn't get much sleep last night, so I am feeling a bit sleep deprived today. Hopefully I can improve on my sleep tonight, and feel better on the weekend.

Thanks Lowcal, very good advice. Poor you, sleep deprivation is awful (I think that is why I put on so much weight when my girls were babies !) I hope you sleep well tonight. Enjoy your weekend. Juliet

Hi juliet, sorry to hear you have gained but all is not lost as you now have all this time to focus on you and your goal. I know it will be difficult with the kids off but the added bonus is that you have all this time to plan, plan, plan everything every day.

I'm off with the kids and have been doing things with them at the park and this week I learned how to skateboard and I am now better than the kids so now they want to practice more to get better than me LOL. I've been out on my bike doing almost 12 k everyday and going to the gym. I wish you good luck on your journey and what ever you chose to do during these weeks off work make the most of it cause it only comes round once a yr :-) :-) :-)

Thanks Trafford 1, wonderful advice. Will try and keep active as much as I can. x

I'm also reluctant to weigh myself when I think there might be a gain on the scales. So big respect for stepping on them. Hopefully the 4lb is quickly reversible. Every day counts when you're trying to lose weight, so get back to your plans asap. It's often easiest to do this when the willpower is bolstered by seeing a gain, so see it as a positive motivator to get back on track! Good luck :)

You'll get back into it Juliett. Just keep in mind you aren't going to let yourself go over 12 and a half stone and that will keep you focused. :)

To weigh your self when you knew it was a gain, is the right thing although its painful and I don't think I would have had the courage to do it.

Fingers crossed it comes off quickly.

And you're right life is for living :)

Well done Hun I was the same this week but pleased because I had a weekend away drink and food hoping for loss next week though

Thank you. It's nice to let your hair down occasionally. As it's a change of lifestyle the odd slip up is going to happen, it's the getting back to it that is important. I hope you get a good weigh in next time x

Hi Hun I've been really good this week so hopefully I will be under 80kg that will spur me on no end . And I have booked in to see a nutritionist on 3aug exited about that .

Good luck with the weigh in. The nutritionist sounds interesting, I love watching programmes on healthy foods/diets etc... Good luck! My next weigh in on Friday is the last one before two weeks of being on holiday so I am hoping it will be a loss although I had more food at the weekend than I intended, think it must have been the rain damping my spirits!
