Advice please - What do you think? :)

Hey everyone –

I need some tips and advice

In May 2013 I weighed 19stones 6lbs. it took about 18 months to lose 6 – 7 stones.

Today I weigh 11 stones 4lbs but I feel like I’ve been stuck on this for a while. Two and a half weeks ago I weighed 11 stones 8lb – so I have lost 4lbs in this time.

I am consuming around 1000 cals a day and work out Monday – Thursday without fail.

Three weeks ago I set myself a goal to lose 30lbs in 12 weeks.

I think my problem is, I have lost too much weight in a relatively short period of time. The first 5 stones were within a year, it almost feels like I still expect myself to lose weight at that speed.

I know I have to try harder now, hence all the exercise and strict eating but it just won’t budge.

Also, by losing weight at this speed and being so tunnel focussed, I think I suffer from some form of body dysmorphia. I’m a comfortable size 12 yet still pick up the size 16 clothing, less than a month ago I was on the Thorpe Park website checking out weight restrictions to make sure I was okay, Sometimes I see colleagues or friends and wish I looked like them, to only later find out I’m so much smaller than them.

Anyway – maybe this was a vent, maybe I need some advice I’m not too sure now! Haha

But I will say, losing weight is the best thing I did, I love how fit I am, how much more energy I have, how much less constricted I feel and how this has taught me exactly how strong of a person I am, physically and emotionally!

If anyone is going through that journey and would like a friend or someone to talk to, definitely get in touch. I am more than happy to share any experiences I have.

I guess, thank you for listening? Xx

Well done !!! You have done very well losing your weight, I know how you feel totally, I lost 85lbs two years ago, I'm 5'5" tall and went from 215 lbs to 130 lbs through counting calories and walking on treadmill every day, I maintained this loss for nine months, then after being ill and stressing then visiting daughter in oz for a month, came back and had gained quite a bit, - I am back down to 142 now but I am in a UK size 8-10, but I still look at friends and moan to my husband saying, how slim they look and why can't I look like that? He keeps telling me that there isn't anything of me and I'm too skinny, but I don't see it at all.

I still want to get back to my 130 lb as I felt slim then, I don't now, but its hard to lose weight, the slimmer you are.

But for you, you lost 2lbs a week, with your 4 lbs and that is great, that is the top end of were you want to lose, they always say, the quicker you lose weight, the quicker it goes back on..just carry on and the weight will drop off in time, but if you want, you can have a break and maintain your weight loss that you have already had, which is brilliant, and has turned you into a different woman, both inside and out and that takes time getting used to in itself, take a bit of time and enjoy being the size 12 you are, then carry on again.

Feel free to message me, dot

That's brilliant, body dysmorohia is not surprising you have changed your physical body, to a totally new you, well done 😀😀😀

First of all: well done! A big weight loss that's inspirational. You are still losing weight at a good pace: the guidelines tend to be 1-2lbs a week. So everything is going well.

30lbs in 12 weeks might be do-able and losing 4lbs in 18/84 days, you are on track. But I don't see the need to go so fast. The aim is to be healthy for life, not to lose weight as fast as possible. What's important is keeping the weight off later in life, not getting down to a size 8 or 10 right now.

Wow Saira you have done amazingly. I can imagine how hard it must being getting used to the new you.

I can't really offer you any advice as I am only near the beginning of my journey and have tons to lose.

I am glad you are happy with your new body and I am sure in time you will relax about it and stop picking up those larger sizes.

A 4lb loss in 2.5 weeks is a great loss after you have shifted so much already.

Well done, you are an inspiration :)

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I think I'm just being too hard on myself.

I had a serious think last night about my exercise and food and I can honestly say I'm not cutting corners any where, I'm not having too many treats. So as frustrated as I may feel, it will come off when it wants to.

On the plus side, absolutely anyone who wants any helps, advice or motivation, please feel free to message me :) I'm not a professional but feel like I've been through every weight loss rollercoaster and think I can help
