I believe in the body's natural ability to heal from obesity. Diets require a lot of mental energy in thinking about what you eat, rather than feeling, using your body's senses and emotions. This can leave you drained and tired and 'low'. Weighing yourself gives emotional highs and lows according to the scales. All of this stresses the body and occludes the natural gain/loss rhythm in a woman's monthly cycle.
I am obese. I have an under active thyroid, for which I take Levothyroxine.
But I have such a compelling conviction that diets damage my homeostasis - my body's natural ability to balance itself. This natural balance is evident in all the healthy-weight people who eat fast food, convenience food - basically anything they like. And you will notice there is usually a bundle of things they don't like or won't eat, often including vegetables.
I seek to rediscover this natural balance for me - it will be a unique solution, and welcome comments and shared journeys wherever they may lead.
