You CAN do it! It's in your hands. Not to say it's not hard - really hard - but you can do it. Good luck!

Hi tvkev

Welcome to the site, you've taken the hardest step! joining and asking for help!

They say the 12 week plan is full of helpful advice, i'm gonna download it today as i need to loose same amount as you and more!! the gps are screaming!!!

Have you got a family member or friends to help you on your journey to a new you?

If you'd like a lifestyle buddy (i don't do the 'D' word) i'd be honoured to be there for you.

Good luck, take care and angel blessings

Yes if you really want to, with the help of friends here, YOU CAN DO IT.

Knowledge is power so start by browsing the many articles on the effect of sugar. I did and still do even in my 12th week on the plan.

Another "it worked for me." hint. My wife kept telling me that it was my constant grazing in the evenings that was making me fat, so she would pile the potatoes on my plate "so that I would not be hungry in the evenings".

I now know from reading articles on glycaemia that she was entirely on the wrong track!

Trying to stave of hunger with spuds is like trying to put a fire out with diesel fuel.

The only thing worse was what I was doing in the evening trying to stave off hunger with sugar ie. sweets. That's like trying to put a fire out with petrol.

Has it worked for me? 20lbs lighter and 3inches less round waist in 12 weeks---that's me. So yes; it worked for me.

Remember the exercise guidelines and Do Not reward your self with sugary food or drink, during and after exercise water is what you should be drinking, not glucose.

Fruit is good and a SMALL bottle of fruit juice (no added sugar) may be in otder just before a really really tough exercise. I'm talking at least a 600 ft hill climb.

You will have read "Remember to eat breakfast, so that you do not eat snacks during the morning."

A word of warning. If your breakfast is loaded with sugar IT WILL MAKE YOU HUNGRY.

Very counter productive that is. Personally before retiring (I am 73) I would drink water before leaving home at 6.30 am to cycle 4½ miles to work and my breakfast at the 10am tea break would be cheddar cheese and tomato sandwiches. So eat when you are ready and not neccesarily when you get up.

If you are hungry after reading all this, get out the BUTTER not the marge and spread it thick on a rice cake (just ONE) , eat and find out for yourself that feeling full comes not from quantity of food but from quality.
