How to deal with side effect of hot flashes and feeling hot all the time from pain meds?

How do you deal with the side effect of hot flashes and feeling hot all the time that is being caused from your pain medicine or antidepressants used for pain? I take Tramadol at the highest dosage everyday for my severe nerve pain from CRPS because it's the only thing that works for me. However it makes me feel hot all the time and have hot flashes even though I'm already having them do too having no estrogen in my body. So I wondered if anybody goes through this as well and is there anything that can help with the side effect of feeling hot all the time and hot flashes?

Hi I have a few different health problems which im on a lot of opioid's for, pregabalin, tramadol butrans co-codamol as well as being in menopause, yes i know exactly what you mean, the sweats i have are all head based and i used to love sitting on a beach but not any longer foreign hot climates are not enjoyable any longer, Dr said too me nothing at all to alleviate it either despite hrt gel, im currently itching everywhere as well , finally got apt for GP after a month of hell.. no antihistamine will touch it..

Yes that's exactly what I'm going through as nothing has worked for me. I tried 80 mg a day of black cohosh for 2 months and that only took maybe 5% of the hot flashes away. Then I went to the gynecologist he found that I have zero estrogen because of my anorexia so she put me on the HRT estrogen patch 0.075 mg 3 weeks ago and I'm still not getting any relief so I'm just to see her in a couple weeks which will then mean that I've been on it a month but she's surprised because most people get relief at this point and I know it might take my body a little bit longer but I'm worried that if the HRT doesn't work what else can I try for hot flashes?

Hi I’m sorry to hear about your feeling of being hot I have RSD in almost every part of my body I have surgeries that make it raise its ugly head to the point where my face looks looks I have a sun burn I sweat at night also The only way I know to calm it down is to take a medrol pack I had hand surgery back in April and because the nerve pain was so bad they gave me one and it helps Of course you can’t do that all the time but for the times it gets bad that’s what I do I take no meds at all I have been through all the opiates to the point where I had 100mcg of fentanyl on me at all times Luckily I’m off would rather deal with the pain than deal with big pharma

Take care and hang in there your not alone we r here to help
