Missed misscarriage

I found out at a scan at 9+4 weeks that I had a missed miscarriage that happened 3 weeks prior to scan. I had the pessary to aid in the miscarriage and was told to re test 3 weeks later. Well it’s 3 weeks on Monday but just tested tonight and the tests are still saying pregnant and positive. This is such a weird feeling at such a hard time. Had this happened to anyone? i have to wait until Monday to ring ☹️

If your test is still saying you are pregnant & they told you that you had a miscarriage then that means your hcg level hasn’t hit 0 yet. This sounds similar to my situation.

Hi Hippy so sorry to hear you’ve had a missed miscarriage. Similar happened to us last year. I tried conservative and then medical management. The tablets did not work for us and if you haven’t had a significant bleed (the docs words) then they may not have worked for you. The risk also is if you did bleed but their is any trace of pregnancy tissue left inside it will unfortunately mean your body will produce HCG. After failed medical management we had to have surgical. They put me out and basically removed everything. When this situation drags on like mine did and yours it makes it even harder I believe. You need closure and your body won’t allow you to have it. Wishing you the best and really hoping you can put this behind you soon and start looking to the future. I’m 17+6 weeks pregnant now. Miracles do happen ♥️

Hi Hippy, I also had a missed miscarriage and I’m very sorry for you loss as it’s a massive shock to be told at a scan and I found out at my 12 week scan . I ended up going into hospital for a D&C, nothing else was offered, but staff were very kind and sympathetic to my situation. Seek advice from your GP for reassurance.

Hi Hippy! Sending a virtual hug your way. I had a missed miscarriage also at 7 weeks and found out at my 11 week check up. The hardest thing ever. I took the pill and unfortunately it did not work for me. Tissue was left inside, so I had to end up doing surgery to get the rest out. Mine dragged on as well to the point that it became a septic miscarriage, so please be sure to go get seen. A month and a half later I got pregnant again and have a healthy baby now. This happened to me years ago. I had a lot of bleeding after the pessary but was still testing positive. When they did a scan there was only a small amount of tissue left so I didn’t have to have surgical management. I just had antibiotics to prevent any infection and then had a slightly heavier than normal period a couple of weeks later. I really feel for you as it’s awful when it drags on.

I'm sorry this has happened to u. It's such a horrible thing to go through. I had a missed miscarriage went to my 9 week scan and was told I lost the baby... I didn't opt for medical management I just let it come out naturally... I got pregnant the following month and now have a healthy 14 month old. 🌈 Babies do happen. Hope you get yours very soon 🌈
