When did u have a period after c-section?

Hi everyone. I am slightly worried that I haven't had a period after my c-section. C section was on the 3rd of October and from what I've read I should have one between 6 or 8 weeks later. We're coming up to 12 weeks and nothing. Should I be concerned?

Hey hun are you breastfeeding? If so you may not get one due to this and until you stop or least til stop night feeds. Varies for everyone but that can be a factor. I’m 7 1/2 months on and no period yet for me. Unsure c section has much to do with it but could be wrong. Breastfeeding def does though due to the hormones involved. Enjoy this time 😁👍👍

Hiya. I'm not breast feeding. I tried but it didn't work for me. My milk never came in even after I tried pumping. My son would get too hungry so I just do bottle feeding.

Ahh I see no worries and fair enough. Unsure then hopefully others can help. Hope u enjoying having a lil one it amazing a though obv can be tiring 😁👍x

Hi Rainbowhope! Same thing happened with me I had an emergency c section on 7th October and had my little one. Breastfeeding didn't work for us either, I got a very, very small amount from pumping so I've been formula feeding (apart from a teeny tiny amount of breast milk up to 8 weeks but honestly hardly anything no matter how often I pumped - so frustrating!)I had bleeding afterwards but lighter than a period, it would stop and then come back again up until about week 7 - I'm assuming the last time must have been a light period but hard to say!

Thats my experience exactly! Except my bleeding after the c section was heavy for 2 weeks and then very light. I haven't bleed for ages. Well over a month so I don't know where my period is.

Mine came back between 3-4 months after my c section I can’t remember the exact timing! I formula fed from 3 days too, I had irregular periods before my pregnancy and since that first one I have had a regular period each month, hopefully yours turns up soon xx

I had baby number 4 in February this year, he was my second c section baby. after my first section I bleed lightly for only 2 weeks and periods returned to normal on the 3rd month after birth, this time round my periods still haven't returned to normal. I'm not worried the gp told me sometimes it just takes time and be up to 1 year before things return to normal within the body. If your worried I would advise you speak to your gp.
