Has anyone else on their second pregnancy had to have a ring pessiary put in to hold their bladder up cos it’s in the way (prolapsed) since the birth of their first? Did physio therapy of pelvic floor practice help and is there anything else bar not lifting and drinking caffeine ( dont do anyway preggers duh..) I’ve been told if it prolapsed further they will recommend a c section to avoid complications in the birth. I was induced with my first little girl and that was so hard it was quick and overwhelmingly painful. I am very nervous about it all and I’m only 14 weeks so far so I’m hoping it doesn’t prolapse further and that the ring pessiary works that is of course if it doesn’t fall out cos it’s not the right size 🤦‍♀️😳

I didn’t have this happen, but I work with pregnant ladies now as a Pilates instructor and emphasise how important those pelvic floor exercises are. I’m so sorry you’re going through this and you didn’t manage to get it sorted before you got pregnant again. Doing pregnancy Pilates (make sure your instructor is qualified to work with pregnant ladies) would help strengthen all your core muscles which will help your pelvic floor. Learning to breathe deeply, lateral breathing which engages the diaphragm will help strengthen your pelvic floor too. If you don’t find a pregnancy Pilates instructor, do these exercises to help mamaonthemove.co.uk/2017/01...

A good description of how to squeeze those abdominals:

To reduce the risk of diastasis recti try to avoid twisting your torso and doing side bends as these can cause separation of the abdominal muscles.

Finding a local doula and chatting to her about support during pregnancy, labour and birth might reassure you and help you have the birth you want, they are well worth the money.

If you want to find me on Facebook: FlexiFitness St Neots.

Good luck, fight for your body to be looked after and get the support you need. Xx

I now have it in and it has helped a lot only thing is it makes it painful for sex not for me but my partner the plastic hurts him but increase the sensitivity for me. I’m feeling guilty but happy about the extra feeling it’s given me! 😂😭
