One of the rheumatologist I saw claimed that IM steroids had fewer side effects to oral ones. The neurologist said there was no difference. Anyone have anecdotal evidence either way?

The only difference I can think of is you are on oral steroids for a longer period of time, so in the long term have the potential to cause more long term issues.
I never had any problems with IV pred, only benefits, but have heard of plenty of people who get the common issue of insomnia after IV.
