Weird cold, wet sensations!

I have a very strange new symptom happening! I feel like a have a wet spot on my leg, but when I check, my pants are totally dry. Sometimes it's a very small area, other times it feels like my whole butt is wet! I even asked my husband to make sure, because it feels so real! Nope, dry as a bone. It moves around, mostly my butt or legs, but the other evening the left side of my face had a cold sensation for about an hour, then it went away.

It's very irritating, but is it MS? Anyone else experienced this?

Hi Hidden !

I've experienced thinking I had a wet spot on my legs but not a cold spot. I also experience the feeling that a bug is crawling on me when nothing is there. That can happen anywhere on my body. MS does some strange things!

I have that feeling a lot. It makes me wonder all the time if it really happened. Mine goes down my inner thigh, lol, so it feels like I pee myself. I always check it out....and again dry. Instead of cold mine is a warm trickle that starts off in the middle thigh and dribbles down just above my knee. I also have that feeling of bugs crawling on my skin or under my skin. Nothing is there. Sigh...it would make my day if it was a bug...I would smash it and smile to myself. Ha! Got'em.

Since on Gabapantin I noticed my symptoms slowing down. It's nice.

Thanks for the feedback @Raingrrl and @Stepinup! Sometimes I get a bad one and it feels like a whole glass of cold water is poured down my leg starting at the back of thigh and slowly makes it all the way down to my toes. Then it immediately turns to a terrible burning feeling in my whole leg. It only lasts less than a minute, total, and then I feel completely normal again (well, maybe normal isn't the word for me! Ha ha).

Anyway, going to neurologist Thursday. I guess I was wondering if this is MS or spine issue, as I have that going on, too.

The "bugs" are the worst! One time I thought a spider was crawling on my head and in my reaction to slap it to death, I ended up really hurting myself!

Hi Hidden omg l hate that feeling!!! Especially if you have company like l did. I wanted to cry, l didn't know what was happening 😥 In my case it was part of a bad reaction to Baclafin. As soon as that was out of my system, the feeling was gone!

I'm glad your seeing your Neuro Thursday ☺ Hopefully he can help you out with that. Like Stepinup said gabapentin or Lyrica might help.

Make sure your keeping a journal of your symptoms, when they started, how long they last, so on and so forth☺ and any questions you have, cause if your anything like me, you'll forget as soon as you get there 😁

I get "water" running down my leg all the time, but of course it is completely dry. And don't get me started on the bugs! I can feel a bug on my neck most often, but they happen anywhere. I can't tell you how many imagined bugs I have slapped 😆. All part of this bizarre disease. Now watch, one day I will probably have a brown recluse spider on me and ignore, it will bite me for sure!

Hidden Yes it is. I have had the wet spot on my butt cheek and dripping water on my leg (that was not really there), isn't the brain awesome!

Hi there,

Did you go see your doctor about it?

I'm having the same sensation at the moment...

I didn’t tell my doctor at first, I thought that I had lost my mind! But after a while I told him and he said “MS can do that.”

It can be MS or it can be Arachnoiditis or it can be Dysautonomia.

I have the same symptom of wetness on my right buttock. It started a couple of days ago and happens several times a day. I don't have MS (as far as I know) but I do have chronic back issues and autoimmune disorders. This weird symptom is what led me to this site. I was surprised to see that so many others have this same feeling of wetness! It's so strange; I thought I was losing my mind! Hopefully it won't progress to anything further or more intolerable.

I'm having same thing, and I don't have MS either. Wondering what the heck it is... have you continued to have these symptoms, and/or figured out what is causing it?

Hi, I'm having the same feeling on my left buttock. I've had it for a month now. I thought I was imagining the feeling until I kept getting it. Did you find out what it was? I'm going to let my doctor know tomorrow.

I have the feeling on my left buttcheek. I’m on the medication infliximab for crohns so maybe this is a side effect? I also had anal fistula surgery about a year ago so maybe it’s in relation to that as well? Hopefully it’s not ms… I feel the bugs crawling sometimes as well…

Chronic back issues is what I think it is. Because me as well and research says pinched nerve in back or legs

Hey there,

Have you had any more sensations since your last post? If so, have you been to the doctors?

Hi taosgirl,

It's been a While since you post. How are you going at the moment..?

in reply toBlue2703

Hi Blue2703 - I can’t believe it’s been two years since I posted that question! I reported it to the doctor at the time, and he said it was most likely one of those bizarre MS sensations, and I should let him know if it continued or got worse. Well, it actually stopped completely! Never happened again after those first few times. Now I have new things happening, like dystonia in my left foot (toes curling under) which is like walking with a club foot! And my foot eventually becomes temporarily paralyzed after walking about 15 minutes. Thankfully, this is always temporary and I regain use of it after resting. 🙂

It sounds like nerve problems. Can be related to MS since it effects the nerves. I hope you get that issue fixed. 🙏♥️🌹

Is this only Ms or can it be related to crohns as well? Can it be the side effect of a biologic used to treat crohns?
