Dart like sensations to my scalp

Does anyone else get what I have termed zingers to the skull or scalp? It feels like someone sticking darts into my head over and over again. Lasts a second and returns a few seconds later. It lasted for several hours and now my skull is so tender in that area. It has happened many times over the years.

Ms never fails to amaze us, we hear of different symptoms nearly daily. I hope you get some responses as I haven’t heard of this before. Blessings Jimeka

Kyliefrances, I get similar momentary to minute long ice pick stabs to my right frontal cortex. They are to the point of drawing tears, but along with other random body stabs, controlling stress and anxiety makes most of them go away. There are medications that can help with this without putting you to sleep, tiny dose of clonazepam goes a long way with me.

I have area of right side of my

Scale that just hurts like I’ve banged my head against a

Door. Been a week. Hurts to the touch so it’s not a headache.

Yes I get them. Usually in the same spot, left front of my head. I call it my " hot spot" as it has actually made my hair frizzy in that area. Be careful if it gets to tender, 3.5 years ago the right section of my brain swelled .....the pain was terrible!!! Had to go on steroids. I can remember it felt like a waterfall running down my head. I don't wish that on anyone!!!

I get them on either side of my head sometimes. It's not something that happens often but when it does happen, it happens more than once. Its a quick 'zap' right behind my ear. That last time it happened was a few days ago on the right side of my head.

Thanks for the feedback. It always helps to be validated for what I am experiencing.

Any have ongoing tenderness? Not zapping?

Tender to the touch. Pain forward from the side of the head in to the face. Upper jaw pain. Water fall sensation etc. Comes and goes. Trigeminal Neuralgia! Look it up and it may explain a lot or it may partially explain. Everyone is different.

Yes, I’ve used the term zinger as well, or stabbing when the pain is extremely bad. Mine is from Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN), a side effect from my MS. TN can be extremely painful, and debilitating. I am on several meds to keep it at bay. They are anti-seizure meds. I hope you have relief from this pain. Take care!

Kylie yes I do get them, tenderness to the skull and dart like sticking now. I also have pimples on my skull that inflates and deflates at random. sometimes I wake up and its there but was not there when I went to bed. other than that, I am dealing with trigeminal neuralgia that makes for more pressing remedy as it is VERY VERY painful. good luck, stay positive.

This is very interesting to read all the responses. I have had weird feelings to my scalp also, but try to ignore because I didn't know why. To hear others now I can maybe feel like it's the MS. Sometimes I feel like there's water running down my scalp and I'll feel it and there isn't. And I get a weird vibration in certain spots of my scalp. But the feeling that water ran down my head is the worst. For me though it's not painful most of the time just sometimes I get a jab near my temple area.
