For those of you who are celebrating, what are you having for Thanksgiving dinner? Not necessarily just what you're cooking, but the whole meal.
We'll be having turkey with oyster stuffing, mashed potatoes, parsnips & turnips cooked in broth, candied sweet potatoes, and brussels sprouts smothered in butter and cooked to mush. Then of course there's cranberry sauce, bourbon pickles, black olives, 2 kinds of pumpkin pie, apple pie, and eggnog.
I'd like to cook more food, but there's only 4 of us this year. lol

We are having a weird one. For lunch, my husband is going to make lemon pepper wings and I will make charcuterie. Deviled eggs might happen 🤷♀️ Things people can munch while decorating the tree.
For dinner, my mom is making halupki (stuffed cabbage) and cherry pie. I will be cooking ribeye crown steaks and traditional sides (green bean casserole, cornbread dressing with turkey gravy, smashed potatoes, probably Mac and cheese).
If I'm feeling great, then I will also make a pumpkin cream cheese swirl pie with a cookie crust.
I think I'm coming to your house....I haven't had halupkis in more than 30 years! My mother-in-law's neighbor used to make them all the time and would always pass some along.
How far away are you? I'm in IN! Always room at our table for more! Wow, you were lucky! It was a rare treat for me. Pierogis too 🥰 Those are on the Christmas menu.
So, they are not traditional halupkis, like my Gma made, but close. It was my dad's favorite dish. My mom uses a beef recipe, and her tomato sauce is pizza sauce 🤣🤦♀️ They are good! I am looking forward to chopping one up and adding it to a bowl of tomato soup 🥰🥰🥰 I need to learn how to make them since my husband loves them too!
Turkey, oyster and regular stuffing, some kind of mashed potato, gravy, bean something, biscuits, mountain goat horn, carrots, cat and dog chow. and pumpkin pie.So far.
You have enough food for two more, NorasMom ? Because it all sounds yummy! We’ll be having turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, maple sweet potatoes, cayenne carrots, pan fried green beans, pizelle cookies, French silk pie, and Pepto Bismol! 😆
we are having turkey, potatoes (reg for everyone else; sweet potato for me) stuffing ( stove top for everyone else; mine will be made with wheat bread), green bean casserole, salad, rolls, gravy - don’t forget the gravy lol
Please note: I am not following a specific diet I just do better cutting out white potatoes and white bread. I am trying this anti inflammatory thing. I do feel better eating like that! But that’s me, yous gotta find what works for yous! (Maybe you’re different than me - things are usually just me 😂)
Sounds good! I’m making mac n cheese to bring, but my mom’s hosting so I have no idea what else we’re having, lol. My mom is very extra with everything, so I’m sure it’ll be super fancy and yummy.
Turkey Breast, oyster stuffing, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, green beans, crescent rolls, black olives, cranberry sauce, pumpkin and cherry pies, and meatballs for one son who won't eat Turkey. To get through it, have already made the pies, This morning I'm going to make the oyster stuffing, sweet potato casserole, meatballs and then refrigerate to cook later. Have made a list of when to do what. I have to have lists, it's the only way I can get through it. My husband has promised to help. Of course he's sleeping in and I can't get started until he gets up. Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
So far no help. I've got the sweet potato casserole, the oyster stuffing, green bean salad and meatballs in the refrigerator and ready to cook and all those damn dishes done. Tonight after dinner he will help with the dishes, he always does. Part of it is my fault, I don't ask.
Hubby smoked the turkey, he does every year, my favorite thing is to sit and eat 'dinner' of turkey as he carves it while it is still warm!!🍗 Mashed potatoes, bacon green beans (fresh French green beans with tons of bacon! 😋), roasted Brussel sprouts, deviled eggs, fresh fruit, rum roasted pecans, and some pies.
That is our at home dinner, and does not include what we are taking to MIL's house for dinner on actual Thanksgiving day. I'm making two things, for at home, but they are easy. Crusty French rolls (they basically make themselves), and the roasted Brussel Sprouts. And I have my teens to help, if I am tired when they need to be made. I declined making my usual stuff for at MIL's, which includes a veggie medley, that is my absolute favorite. It's got 3 parts that are flavored differently, and must be oven roasted separately... so much effort. Had to say nope this year. Maybe I'll be in better health next year to make it. 🧡🦃
