my doctor just ordered me some modafinil. Does anyone on this form? Have any thoughts about it?

modafinil
Never used it good luck
I've used it for MS-related fatigue. Modafinil is a central nervous system stimulant. It's used for narcolepsy patients too.
It promotes wakefulness and stimulates your nervous system, which gives you "energy." I try to only take 100 mg per day. I hope it helps you with your fatigue, too. Best wishes! 🙂🤞🤗🙏
Thank you!! Any side effects?
No side effects. But I only take 100 mg every day (six hours or so as with MS I have a faulty battery, so the strength wears off.
But I found that taking 200 mg had me "wired" too much, but if I had to do something, I have left myself the option of taking an additional 100 mg after six or seven hours.
I've read that some folks give themselves a "drug holiday" and obstain from taking it. I've tried to do that as I've read that you can get used to it.
There is Nuvigil which is Provigil but it's supposed to last longer, but insurances prefer to pay for the generic Modafinil.
I'd definitely get the rx from your doctor and take it as needed as I do. I find it's a wonderful aid in combating my fatigue.
Keep me posted on how it works out for you. Best wishes! 🙂🤞🤗🙏❤️😽
Thank you SO much!! Ima try some this morning! I like to know that u take 100 mg at a time and allow yourself to take the 2nd 100 mg later if you want or need.. Im gonna do that too. My doctor already ordered it and my husband was out so i asked him to pick it up. So i have it here but have been reluctant to start taking it. But now im ready!! Thank you!!
I have been taking modifanil 100 mg for several years. It really helps. It gives me a boost for the second half of the day. I find that if I miss a couple days in a row, I really feel it. No negative side effects.
I liked it. It helped me stay awake and be slightly productive! I felt a little edgy and irritable, but I'm sensitive to everything. I just took a smaller dose. It's also supposed to help with attention, which in turn helps you remember more. I hope that it helps you!
I’m so glad you posted this question because I just started too. I had read on previous post about people’s experiences, and I’m glad to read some additional recommendations here.
I’m on 100 mg too but I started off by cutting it in half because when I tried Provigil, it was way too intense. Even half of 100 mg was too much. So I started off by taking 1/4 of the pill in the morning and then a second one in the morning. Now, I’m going to skip the morning dose and just take it in the afternoon because that is when I’m the most tired. In summary, find and do what works best for you with trial and error.
Good luck!
thanks for your replies! So far so good from my 9 aa.m. (central time) dose!
I have been on modafonil for several years. I t definitely helps my fatigue. Some days I take it twice a day when I’m struggling with overwhelming fatigue and difficulty staying awake. It has definitely helped me a lot and I can’t think of any side effects or negative issues with taking it. I hope it’s helpful for you as well.
I could not use this medicine. I just itched and itched when I was taking it.

oo i like that 200 mg twice a day!! My dr started me on.200 mg once a day and i started spacing it out 100 mg at 2 different times of the day (1 in the a.m. and 1 later in the day. It works some but a little more might be even better ! Ima see if she’ll ok a little more
