As many of you know, I've been struggling with a lot of pain from tight pelvic floor muscles, so I got botox trigger point injections back in mid May. At first, the improvement was pretty minimal. But I am so happy to be able to report that for the past couple of weeks, my pelvic pain has been so much better! I didn't want to say anything at first, because it seemed too good to be true and I kept expecting to have more pain again. I still have to wstch what I do, but I really am seeing a big improvement. Not taking as much medication has been great, not hanging on to my heating pad with white knuckles every night has been great, and I'm so happy that I finally got real relief about four weeks after the injections. I'm so glad that I tried them, and I hope they continue to work. Yay! ๐

Thanks. I would be interested in learning more about stretches. I did have pelvic floor PT, which I discontinued with my doctor's okay because doing the exercises caused more pain.
I am so happy for you!!! I will keep this in mind for the future, if I need. I recently was put on prednisone and while I was on it I had no clitoral pain or spasticity. Once it wore off the pain came back. I am hoping that this will help my doctors identify the cause of the pain so they can effectively treat it. Are you able to walk now without any pain? I am tearing up thinking of you getting your mobility back! Hallelujah!
Thanks, RomCom87! I guess we will have wait and see. At least at this point, those muscles are still pretty touchy if I overdo it on the treadmill or do too much bending. I still wouldn't be able to do pelvic floor physical therapy now. I'm hoping that maybe the botox might have some residual effect when it's time to get more, because then the effect might increase over time, but who knows. I'm just grateful that I've had so many good days over the last few weeks! Thank you so much for caring; I really appreciate your prayers and support.
I'm so glad that prednisone helped your symptoms, but it must be frustrating to have them come back. I really hope that it does help your doctors figure out what's causing the pain! I will be praying that you can find a solution! ๐๐
Hi CatsandCars, thatโs such great news! I have a question for you. I have bladder problems and the urologist suggested Botox injections ( I get them in my arm and they help a bit). My question is are you fully anesthetized when you receive the injections? Iโve read that it can be done with lidocaine. I would prefer not to have any general anesthesia.
Hi, Kitsey! I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that question. I think that might depend on your doctor. I would call them and see. I wish you the best of luck.
Thanks for responding quickly. I meant to ask if you had general anesthesia when you received the Botox injections. I will definitely talk with the doctor. Iโm just curious as to your experience. Iโm so happy that youโre getting some relief!!
