Surgery on the near horizon.....

Hello everybody, it's Fancy1959. Seems like I just got back to the chat room and I have to tell you I've really been enjoying it. It has been so good speak to everyone again. I wanted to give you heads up that I'll be missing in action again for several weeks. So you didn't think I just disappeared again I wanted to let you know that on Monday November 13th I'm having reverse shoulder replacement done on my right shoulder. I spent 4 hours yesterday in the hospital doing my pre surgery check up and everything was great as far as I know. So surgery is on for Monday. My poor right shoulder is so torn up for me falling so much and catching myself with it the only thing that's left to help it with is to do a reverse shoulder replacement as the rotor cup is basically gone. Please pray that the shoulder heals up quickly and my pain is minimal so my MS doesn't go all nuts on me. 'm not sure if I'll post anything for the next week but don't worry about me. I will post updates as soon as I'm up to it. The pain in the shoulder has been all but unbearable the past couple months so I'm anxious for the surgery to be done to give me pain relief and part of my shoulder back. I'm okay with this all so don't worry about me it will just take me a little time to get back to everybody next week.πŸ€—πŸ’ͺπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘πŸ™‚

Thank-you! The surgery is long over due! If I would have had it done 2 years ago like I should have because I knew then it was gone the shoulder wouldn't be in such bad shape. I guess better late than never however and I am looking forward to getting the pain under control and part of my shoulder back. Thanks for your good thoughts and prayers.

I hope your surgery is a great success Fancy1959 ! Sometimes you just need to take measures to take care of you and this shoulder surgery sounds like it is very much something you needed to get done. Take as much time to recover as your body tells you to take.

Fancy 1959 Just stay positive and things will work out. πŸ™are with you. Be extra careful not to fall πŸ‘

Fancy1959 profile image
Fancy1959 in reply to Kenu

Amen to that Kenu. Falling is one of my worst fears. I don't want to destroy what's left of my shoulder before surgery or fall right after surgery and destroy what was just fixed. Thanks for your support!

I am glad you are getting your surgery now so that you will be able to enjoy the holidays.

Fancy1959 profile image
Fancy1959 in reply to ssdw1958

Ssdw1958, it's Fancy1959. That is why I push so hard to have the surgery so quickly once it was decided I needed it. I wanted to do it before the holidays but I didn't quite get Thanksgiving cleared like I had hoped. I originally wanted the surgery to be on the 30th of October so I had a few weeks to heal up before Thanksgiving but it couldn't be worked out that way. So I got the next date available and at least I should be up and running pretty good by Christmas. If I'm not able to do Thanksgiving in 10 days it will be okay. I also wanted to do it over the winter so by Spring I am able to hopefully get outside and use it a bit more to see how much strength I can build up in it. Your words support means very much to me. Thanks. Fancy

Greaterexp, it's Fancy1959. Thanks for words of support. Thanks for caring, it means more than you can ever realize!

Fancy1959 profile image
Fancy1959 in reply to greaterexp

Amen to that Greaterexp..... I guess it's wonderful that the surgery exist but it's more prone to having bad side effects infections so once I get healed up I'll be up and running but I have to get past those obstacles and make sure I take care of it while it heals!

Good luck on Monday Fancy1959 ! I'll pray for you.

I had shoulder surgery last year. The recovery process was long but I'm doing really well now! My shoulder is still stiff but I can now raise my arm with minimal discomfort and yesterday I hooked my bra in the back for the first time in a couple of years. A weird milestone but still a milestone πŸ˜‚

So happy you are getting this taken care of, Fancy1959 . We have to take care of and fix what we can! So much of what goes on in our lives is out of our control these days. I'll continue to pray for you--your surgery and recovery, and better use of and less pain in that shoulder after all is said and done. Sending you a hug! πŸ’•
