G'Day friends and family, especially you newly diagnosed (newbies). Take a moment or three, wipe away this set of tears. Relax there will be more to come, they will not go away for awhile, mine lasted a few months I think way back when, 20+ years ago. You will survive this, it will just take a lot of changes, maybe even a divorce. This too is sadly normal. One day look at our divorce rate, it is pretty high. In sickness and in health does not mean what it used to.
Anyway the important stuff. Try not to waste your time on cures, THERE IS NOT ONE OUT THERE,
, THERE IS NO CURE. Yes I yelled that, just making a point. There are on the other hand treatments, the Disease Modifying Treatments (DMT). Not a cue, but the best available today, Take the stress off choosing and just start Ocrevus and no I do not work for them but do take its.
Will I have 1700 other post that give a good idea what to do next so have a read of a few. There is still no cure but with a little planning and a lot of mistakes YOU my friend can live this life.
Go on, live it,
Royce
YOU CAN.

For the newly diagnosed newbies - please ignore Royce's advice on which medication to choose, and be guided by your own medical practitioners as to what may be best for you in your situation. Generally the more recently approved meds will be more effective than the very old ones, so do some "homework" using reliable websites set up and run by the many reputable MS organisations around the world. This way you should be able to have a reasonable conversation with your own doctor/s who are real doctors with real qualifications (even if some may be a bit arrogant or not as well informed as they perhaps ought to be!)
There is nothing wrong with using a forum such as this one for seeking information on other people's real life experiences with various meds, but other individuals' experiences will generally influence what their thoughts and recommendations might be, and objectivity and impartiality may sometimes be in short supply.
Gee Frances B excellent advice, you are being helpful to people and that if not unusual is at least helpful, keep it up. O and read more carefully before you post,
Despite more people than just me asking you to stop telling people to choose Ocrevus you have yet again told people to choose Ocrevus - and there is is no other possible interpretation when you have written "Take the stress off choosing and just start Ocrevus...".
And please explain what you mean by "...and read more carefully before you post."
Please seek professional assistance if you are crying for a month, going through a divorce, or making a decision about taking or stopping a medication.
