Dogs know things!

My wife and I have 2 rescues. My 11 year old Sophie who is so spoiled she won’t go outside after it’s rained because she doesn’t like getting her paws wet. She had slept with me for years until her hips got bad. My wife has a 4 year old named Saban. Not too smart but the only way to describe him is like a small tank with fur. He has no idea. He barks incessantly and too be honest I love my Sophie. Several months ago just after getting in bed he jumped up in the bed with me. He laid down looking at me. I don’t know this but that dog looked at me like he was worried about me. My wife says he knows I’m sick. Maybe she’s right because that was 6 months ago and every night he’s in the bed before me watches over me and is there every morning when I wake. Saban has made me love him! Dogs give us an agape or unconditional love that we don’t often give each other. By the way, we are Alabama fans!

Thanks for sharing! I would be lost without my doggo! She is at my side 24/7. Sounds like you have two wonderful pups. Their capacity for unconditional love is priceless. We are truly blessed! 🐶🐾🐾🤗

Animals know. My Charlie is a manic shepherd mix. If you dare to walk past our house, you'll swear he's coming through the window to rip your throat out. The only times he leaves my side is when he positions himself to monitor the two outside doors. If I go into the cellar, he has to go first and thoroughly checks out every corner before going back upstairs to guard the doors.

He frequently gets in the way, and I've tripped over him more times than I can count. But when I'm actually going through a bad spell, he's very cautious and makes a point of giving me room to move without stumbling. It's like a switch is flipped and he goes from rough-and-tumble to gentle as a lamb.

Even a barker, a "small tank with fur", will end up owning a piece of your heart because of their purity. Unconditional pet love is priceless. ❤️

I now love Saban, I just don’t like him. I don’t know why but that dog loves the sh-t out of me!

yes they are very smart and do know when we don't feel well or there is something going on in our bodies ...our little guy always goes to bed with my husband ...he checks on us all day long ....always wanting to be with both of to be in the same room for it is easier for him to keep an eye on us ...our dogs we had before was the same after we both have diseases and would watch over us ...when i was doing the shots they would bug me till i got up and took it ...so weird they know when it is time to eat any meal...bedtime ...they are very smart ...our previous dog was only one but our son and his wife moved up here with us and we connected the two houses together so they could protect both homes ,after i got my MS ,my sons dogs wouldnt go home if my husband wasn't home to be with me ...my daughter -in -law said it was because we gave them treats all the time ...hahhahaha...i don't think so ...loved them all so much ..all 5 of them ...miss them everyday ...had them for 16 and 17 years greats dogs ever ...well get off here ..i do believe they do know what is going on....thank you for a great post ...love and much happiness...

I think God gives them an innate ability to know things that baffle us. Saban seems to know when it’s time to go to bed. About 15 minutes before I go to bed he lays down at my bedroom door like “ Are you coming already “? I know God watches over me I pray for that. I also know anyone breaks in the house in the middle of the night GOD HELP THEM! I keep a 9 mil on the table next to the bed. Not so much for me but God forbid someone shoots him and I will empty my mag in their head! 16+1

That made me laugh! I understand perfectly. My dog is to protect me, and my gun will protect him. He also keeps track of my bedtime. Right on the button, he'll start rumbling in his throat. If I don't instantly get up and go to bed, the rumblings become more frequent. After half an hour of that, he'll go and hog the entire bed until I decide to join him.

I think pets, in general, can sense illness. O love it! Nothing better than a furry hot water bottle!
