Absolutely!! If they just finished Phase I clinical trials, we have several years to wait.

That would be wonderful if they have. I wonder how much it will cost?

I’ll save up for 10 yrs if I have to! 😝

I was in getting my Ocrevus infusion when I shared this. Naturally I shared it with them as well. The consensus was that it won’t pass because Big Pharma and other Health industries will lose too mush money.

I mean, I was at an MS Clinic. What would they rely on for income/profit? Think of all the other industries that benefit from our bad health. And this is for Crohn's, Type 1 Diabetes, and almost the entire scope of autoimmune diseases. Those industries will lose billions if it works.

I will hope with all my heart, but I won’t be shocked if it’s “proven” not to work 😞

That was my first thought too, how did it get this far without being squashed by big pharma and the medical industry as they stand to lose billions. Hopefully the trials continue and are not interfered with 🤞

Also that SciTechDaily is a reputable site

Agreed! When my Aunt sent it I didn’t believe it until I read the article myself. There’s another one in the works as well that she sent me last mos.

My Mom called it too. We have a local morning new anchor that has MS. She has brought so much awareness to MS in our area with major MS Walk plugs on air and she’s got a team as well. When my Mom saw this she said,”Now we need somebody in the Senate or Congress to get dx’d because THEN things will happen!” And you know what? Exactly that happened 3-4 years ago. I’ll have to Google it to see if it’s them personally or their wife, hubby, sibling or child. And we’ve had a few new treatments and way more breakthroughs than ever before that.

Now we wait. Let’s see how far it gets.

Mitt Romney's wife has MS

Don’t hold your breath, ahrogers , as he is retiring from politics and is not running for reelection.

There may be others but that doesn't mean anything. We can hope for the best I guess. Of course the vaccine has to pan out as well.

You inspired me to research a little and discovered there is a MS caucus in congress. I had no idea but I am happy about it!

Didn’t know that about Lori Trahan, and I used to live in her district,  ahrogers ! Thank you for teaching me that! :-D

True. That makes me think about electric cars and how all the industries yelled about them. Hopefully they'll find some other way to get their money.

wow! I had never heard of anything like this before! Wouldn’t that be amazing!

I've been reading about inverse vaccines. It's interesting, but I don't find it that exciting. If it can eliminate the immune response that causes MS, it will be the holy grail of DMTs. But to say it will "completely reverse MS" is a misstatement. While it might allow for remyelination, it won't replace all the nerves and brain tissues that have been destroyed over the years in all of us. Of course, it would be a godsend for those early in the disease process.

Thank you. It may someday be possible to prevent MS before it begins, but there is no cure that will restore us to before MS .

No, I agree, sadly it won’t. I’ve got a “Black Hole” that won’t ever see repair and I’m sure many of you have multiple Black Holes and severe irreversible damage.

I’m only seven yrs in and have had AFO’s, a walker, canes, many relapses and 4 medication changes, all in that short period of time. I’ve recovered 100% in a most. I’ve been lucky. I would likely respond wonderfully to something like this.

Sadly, I am sure it would only work to stop further progression in many who have severe and permanent damage. But to have a one or even three shot deal that would stop ANY further damage forever would be AMAZING.

⬆️⬆️⬆️ This. I don’t want to be a buzz kill, but this news aggregator uses irresponsible and overstated headlines for click-bait. It IS potentially exciting and legit research, but claiming “complete reversal “ is sensationalized and preys on a vulnerable and desperate patient population. Complete reversal would include reversal of existing damage, which hasn’t been demonstrated anywhere in the research. Also realize that this looks promising in a lab but still has a long way to go before we’ll know if it translates to humans and to what degree. Med/sci background and in medical research here; this is intriguing early stage research that looks promising but can’t ethically make the claims this publication made in the headline. Always refer to the actual resource and source, not the various aggregator sites and apps that need to drive traffic to their platforms. The actual research is still only available by subscription through the research institute, but here’s a link to a more responsible interpretation. It’s still overstating somewhat but is an improvement. insideprecisionmedicine.com...

I’m not counting on it having any impact on me. I am 27 years in now. But I do think of my two daughters who are in their 20s. They have a grandmother and then me with MS. I know this is something that weighs on their mind. Perhaps if it’s ever needed, it might be available for them? Who knows? I just know that we are incredibly lucky compared to what was available in the 1970s and 80s for my mother. Basically nothing.

Wow! I just read the article! It seems to be only a few weeks old! This looks very promising!

I am 57 and am feeling more effects of my MS as I get older. To be able to stop and even reverse progression would be huge!
