Hurricane idalia

This hurricane hit me as a catagory 2. It was the scariest thing I have ever been through. I am living in Valdosta Georgia and we are pretty far a ways from the gulf but it hit us hard.I am fine with a friend but still no power and it might be a week before it comes back on.

They said that this is the worst storm to hit this area ever.

I hope to be back home soon

Glad to hear you are safe. While watching the Weather Channel, I saw that Valdosta was going to be a direct hit. I know how scary it is when a hurricane comes through. Back in 2012, I was visiting family in New York when Hurricane Sandy hit. I will never forget the sound of the wind. It sounded like a freight train outside the house windows. Thoughts and prayers to you and all who are affected by this storm. Stay safe.

I am from Fla and they can be scary. We got a bit of it yesterday, but were on the west side of the storm so it wasn't bad.

important thing you’re safe. I live outside of Tallahassee we had it easy but we took a bad hit from Michael 5 years ago. So I understand what you are going through. It’s hard to be patient but you have to. Stay safe

I went through a bad tornado back in 2008 and it wasn't as bad as this. I wish that I would of left. I felt I need to stay mainly I didn't expect it to be so bad and I would od been so worried about my dogs

I knew you had moved to Valdosta (in that part of Georgia which we used to call lapland, where Florida and Georgia looked very similar). When the hurricane track was posted, I thought of you and hoped you and your family would be safe. It's very good to hear from you and know you and Oliver and the others are safe. I hope the power is soon restored.

It was crazy after I lost power I wasn't following it anymore and a few people told me it was going to be ok. But it hit straight on. I was so happy that my friend that lives a 20 minute drive from my house got her power back on quick

I am very thankful you are safe. The worst part of no power is losing everything in your freezer. We were without power for about 4 days after Katrina. (we were fortunate!). Just after that, we bought 2 generators! We are thinking about ya'll from Mississippi.

Power was on last night but to late in the day for me to drive home. I will be heading home very soon this morning
