Interesting day yesterday

Yesterday, there was a food festival in my hometown, and my husband asked me why I wanted to go. So I told him the truth. I've always been working that day, so I've never gone to one! He was a bit amazed, because a few years back, he had come up to stop the night, but I was working that day! So he agreed with me to go and check it out.We parked up at my mum's, had a brew and played with my nephews while mum was getting ready. Mum was looking after the boys because my sister was at a wedding that day! I had my manual wheelchair in our car's boot, so when it was time to go, there was 3 fit adult's (my husband, mum, and my hopefully soon-to-be stepdad) pushing 3 of us, me, and my nephews in their double pram. Later on in the day, we all went to the big church in the centre of town, and we watched army cadets as they recreated a scene from the last battle of ww2, real bullets, smoke bombs and all! The cadets were in teams: the Americans and the Germans, both teams dodging and taking shelter behind every prop, tree and stone as they fired at each other. Even one of my nephews was going wow every so often! Then, the German team "surrendered," and everyone who watched celebrated and clapped, and then started to mill around the town hall, waiting for a Spitfire flyby. And one did flyby, 3 times in fact, low enough so everyone could see the wings tilting just to show off. Husband later commented how he knew we had army cadets because he'd seen some around before, but Navy and Air cadets! That shocked him. He once liken my hometown to another town near where he grew up, but now he realises Accrington is so much better, and has so much more history, than Leigh! He commented as well on how Accrington's food festival is so much better than the one held in Bolton a month earlier. It was a really brilliant day!

Managed to find the news article about the day! Objective complete, and yesterday I also bought a new printer AND an Amazon Show with part of a gift card for John Lewis we got from our wedding 🤣 obviously, we both agreed, but Adam was all like, "as long as you're happy with them, then I'll be happy." Still got £50 something left on it, but at the moment we really don't need anything so it's off to one side.

Still got to update every one though. I'm not bothering with my Dr's just yet, because I've got an appointment in a couple of weeks so I'll take my certificate with me then just so I can update my name for my NHS record. My passport and provisional driving licence I'm not bothered about as of yet, Adam just needs to update his driving licence first when I remind him (in other words, tell him flat out 🙃) but, I've added a photo from the day of the wedding because I can't remember if I've uploaded it to this site.

Our "second kiss," in front of the building we got married in ❤️
