jackiesj good picture. I don't do baths anymore, I had mine taken out and replaced with a walk in shower. I miss my bath, I miss the soaks and the tranquility of wallowing in my own muck. Hah, those were the days, blessings Jimeka ๐
LOL!!! That tub is huge or you are a mini.
We will send an emergency supply of chocolate, so you may just stay in that tub if you like. It looks comfy!
Say again why did you go in there???
I feel your pain
Oh brother and I mean us (MSers) have a way of having fun
Ok not really but if we canโt joke among each other then we are going to loose our minds. Oh yea I think ๐ค mine has been gone for a while just donโt let my husband know. LOL

ssdw1958 , we called local contractors and had a few come out and talk with us, and give us a cost quote. We had a big corner tube in the master bath (that we did not use) and a large fiberglass shower. We had them both removed and used the large corner area to have a tiled shower built. Look around online and you can see examples of handicapped showers. If you have ever stayed in a hotel, that has a roll in shower you can see different ones also. There are pre made fiberglass ones if you look around on line. Ours has bars on the wall all around, a small tiled bench that my husband uses for his toiletries ( it is out of the shower spray area), tiled insets for shampoo, etc. and we had the window that was there removed and had thick glass blocks (the glass has a pattern so you cannot see through) so we still get natural light in the bathroom. It is fully tiled. We bought a large shower chair so it can easily be scooted in and out of the spray area. We have a mentally and physically handicapped daughter who has a rolling shower chair (she does not live at home now). I put her in her old rolling shower chair (which reclines) and rolled her in the space, after the old tub had been removed, to see how much room we would need. The builders were there so that they could see also. My daughter thought it was funny to have all those cute young guys, in the show with her, measuring and twirling her around (she was fully dressed, of course)!
The floor was built up (just a bit) at the back, so that it tilts towards the entrance, where there is a long stainless steel grating that is the drain. It goes across the whole bottom of the doorway. You cannot tell it is tilted when standing on it.
One really important thing is to make sure that there is some type of waterproof membrane behind the tile if you use tile. It can be some type of vinyl, plastic, etc. or a paint on type like they used on ours. This will keep water from going through the grout (even if it is sealed grout moister can get through) and rotting out the wall/floor joists. Our house is on a concrete slab so floor joists were not a problem. You can find those types of products at home improvement stores.
There are so many types and styles! YouTube is a good place to look up clips on โhow toโ if your husband is able to do it.
Barrier free.org is one place to find the fiberglass roll in showers. These are usually one piece showers that slide in place like the typical shower/tub combos that most homes have.
Marilyn I want to thank you for all your help ssdw1958
