To all who may have served or have family members who gave so unselfishly; blessings and many thank you's! My dad would have been 97 years old and among the special group of War World II Veterans. I have an awesome angel watching over me. Enjoy your day

Wow...amazing. I want to say my dad could have been stationed there too. My dad passed in 1990 and as an only child so many memories are stored in my proverbial "mental vault" I could be wrong. What a blessing and a honor share these memories with our friends and love ones.
My dad died in 2002. If your dad was there they may have crossed paths! From what I understand my dad was where they distributed supplies. Don't know what that's called. I have some items he brought home in a little case. Some photos of the people there, some tiny woven shoes and a woven mat.
God Bless all veterans. My dad served in the Canadian Armed Forces. He just turned 82 last month, and I am so proud of him! Thank you, stepsforNeeC for sharing your photo and story of your dad with this forum.
i to believe we have some great wonderful angels watching over us ...love it ...and they have saved me several times in the past for me to be here now....love and happiness...
a big thank you to all of the veterans out there that have kept us safe ...
My grandfather was a Navy Seabee during WWII. He served in the Pacific but I'm not sure where. He never talked about his service with me. My dad's older brother served in the Marine Corps in the Pacific as well during WWII, but I only met him once when I was about 6. Maybe your dad crossed paths with my grandfather and/or uncle while they were over there.
My dad served in the Marine Corps during Vietnam, my oldest son served in the Air Force, the youngest son is currently in the Air Force and another is doing Army ROTC and will graduate as a 2LT at the end of the next school year. I retired from the Army after a little over 30 years of service.
