Nightmare over

Again as they promised my rollator is back home. I really have to have a plan next time I visit my daughter in the UK. Maybe I'll just keep mine here and get one for over there, then it won't get so banged up on the plane.🤔

Glad you got it back. Sometimes I'm not so proud to be British. They really should do better.

Reminds me of an old spoof slogan for Concorde flights - "Breakfast in London, Lunch in New York, Luggage in Paris." Some things, sadly, don't change.

There was someone on the radio recently who said he keeps a battered old wheelchair to fly with so if it gets lost or damaged it's not a disaster, and that's something he learnt from a similar experience.

sounds like a plan.

Would the airline not gate check it for you? When we fly, I take my rollator or wheelchair to the door of the plane and they take it then. It is waiting for me at the door when I get off the plane.

If you go back and forth a lot, it would be well worth it!

Thank you, that is a thought. Until now I've never had a problem and I've flown a lot in the last two years. My rollator was always on the carousel with my luggage.

How will you get from the airport to your daughter's

She picks me up when I arrive, fortunately she doesn't live far from Heathrow. If I have one there she can bring it with her.

I guess that's that, you should leave one at your daughter's if she has room
