changed hunger/full sensations

hello! My husband just noticed something and we were wondering if anyone else has experienced it as well?

He has realized that he no longer really feels hungry or full. His stomach might growl but he doesn’t “feel hungry”. After he eats, he never feels “satisfied” or full. He feels nothing or if he eats too much he feels uncomfortable never full exactly.

Thank you!

i had some of these issues before my coeliac diagnosis. i was never ever hungry, but when i felt faint i knew it was time to eat again. once i received diagnosis, i could look back and pinpoint a decade and a half before when i developed it, so regardless of his age, it's possible. even if it's something else, i'd see a doctor to get him checked out.

I've had something like this but it's probably not MS, it started when I woke up in Intensive Care with a feeding tube up my nose, and lasted all through a long hospital stay. Now I'm home I'm starting to feel hungry again.

The smells of cooking drifting from the kitchen when my new slow cooker is going really sets me salivating. Maybe having food put in front of me without the normal anticipation just doesn't trigger hunger.

Or maybe it's my body's verdict on hospital food ...!

I have noticed the same thing with myself lately. I eat a big meal and never feel full. I even tried protein shakes. They didn't help either.

Interesting. I’m sorry to hear that for you too. It sounds like such an odd sensation (or lack of) to deal with. We both love cooking and restaurants so it’s a bit of a bummer. Hoping it is temporary and can be sorted it out. Will let you know!

Hi Chaz-b welcome! Great question! And one I have never heard before. Is your husband on a DMT, and which one? Do you think that has anything to do with it?

He is. Kesimpta self injections. My guess would be that is related to neurological damage but haven’t had chance to ask doctor about it yet.
