they are day lilies

Mine
I love daylilies, particularly the native ones. At my old house, I started with 2 dozen bulbs (tubers?) and wound up being able to spread them all around the house and along extensive road frontage. I miss them!
Oh, that sounds wonderful! I had irises, too. They were yellow with traces of purple, and they smelled like lemon Pledge. My grandfather gave me a single bulb when we bought that house, and not knowing any better I buried it under 6" of dirt. Several years later, it finally crept its way towards the sun, and I had one tiny flower. A couple years after that, it was a massive shrub. I separated them and wound up with dozens of plants all over the yard.
Mine are going past as well. I've been working outside pulling weeds, putting down barrier, and mulching. I need to put more summer blooming things in. All mine are done in spring/early summer.
I used to have tiger lilies but my son runs them over with the lawnmower. Since I can't cut the grass anymore I don't complain
