Are you worried? Scared? Blowing it off?

We are all in this together, and we are certainly in uncharted waters, so to say. I am approaching this all with cautious optimism. Keep Smiling, Jesmcd2 and welcome back :-D

My husband and I are staying in unless we HAVE to go out, unless we go up into the mountains or just ride around. We have decided to not go to our daughters apartment, we will ask her caregivers to drive her over to our house, open the sliding side door of her handicapped van, and we will stay back and talk with her a bit. This way she will know that we are ok and hopefully will not get stressed to much.

It isn’t easy on any of us but we hopefully will all get through this together.

Take care my friends.🤗❤️

I placed a delivery for groceries around noon today...the supermarket drivers are likely inundated, so we won’t be getting our food until tomorrow evening. I have rarely used this service, last time it only took a couple hours. We go out only if necessary. We walk daily at a time when there’s fewer people around. I’m looking into how I can help the local children’s food bank if possible... lots of kids depend on school programs...the entire state of Florida schools are closed from what I understand.

Love that idea with helping with the kids! I'm sure they are looking for volunteers to help out! Pretty sure all of NY school's are closed now or will be as of today's end. 🤗💕🌠

Our schools and several casinos closed today. I've been extra cautious since I got MS. No big concerts for me, I also get nervous energy with a crowd. Last concert Bob Dylan, my picture here is after the small concert. Staying in except my dawn walks with my dogs. I live in Las Vegas Nevada. Ya'll are in my prayers as always. My Mamma went through WWII in Genova Italy and they had nothing but newspaper to wipe and bidet if they had water. Our county is providing breakfast and lunch for the kids and others helping our seniors. That's enough from me. Blessings Cynthia

I don't blame you at all! I tend to get sick all the time, and I never used to. It's driving me nuts! Then the anxiety. Yup I get CynthiaS 🤣🤗💕🌠

We were stocked pretty well before the president closed flights to Europe, but that’s the day my husband finished off our two months supply (maybe more). We canceled anything we could to limit my exposure. I’m not afraid or worried yet, but when I do get there, it will be because my husband will be working with those infected and not coming home to us.

Jesmcd2 profile image
Jesmcd2CommunityAmbassador in reply tokdali

Isn't that always the way? Running out just when you're going to need it!🙃 And ^5 blaming the hubby!🤣😉

No "when you get there" , "if you get there" we will be afraid and worried with you my friend. ~Wrapped In The Wings Of Angels~

I didn’t word that right, he finished buying what we needed for the next 8 weeks. Might need more bacon 🤔 but that’s my fault 🤣😬

Eh, we are doing well so far. They closed my county’s schools immediately once a student was positive, and I went out today for the first time since, but wore a respirator and gloves. I hope it doesn’t come to him being away, but we have a lot of obese people here and no outlying hospitals that can do much at all...everyone gets flown in, even from other states, to our city 😵

I’ll worry later, when IF happens 🤣

🥰😘🙏

Right now I have a sleeping baby in my arms, and from what I’m hearing, a disaster to clean upstairs. 😵🤦‍♀️🥰🥰 Life is beautiful!

this isnt the 1st and it wont be the last virus.

the difference with this one is the administration whose gotten rid o the departments that handles these situations

Peruzzot profile image
Peruzzot in reply torjoneslaw

The administration has not gotten rid of those departments that handle infectious diseases or pandemics. That is a nasty rumor that someone started to smear the current administration. Nasty rumors are also the cause of the toilet paper shortages. China does not produce the majority of toilet paper...the United States does. China does however produce the majority of our vaccines and antibiotics, insulin, and other prescription medications...and has done so for decades. That should give everyone some concern. Especially now that the Chinese government is threatening to stop sending them outside China.

anaishunter profile image
anaishunter in reply toPeruzzot

agreed on the concern that most active pharmaceutical components are now produced either in China or in India. This is a big problem.

rjoneslaw profile image
rjoneslaw in reply toPeruzzot

This administration has admitted to dismantling departments because the people where just sitting around. If you do agree with him or kiss his you’re of no use to him he wants yes men nothing more.

This administration smeared its self it didn’t need any help.

I never said anything about vaccines they’re made in various places not just China.

That’s all I have to say on this matter there is no debate only facts.

we're already well stocked at home (or at least we think we are). I tried to go to the grocery store today right after they announced a "shelter in place" for our area.

I saw the lines, and many empty shelves so it was like "not worth the risk to be in line with 30 strangers" for nothing. I turned around and went to the fine food grocery, shelves were also empty but I got my bananas, and a few other things maybe 20% higher cost, with no exposure to crowd.

Staying home starting tomorrow. But will still hit the trail to get some fresh air.

Find out when the stores open and be there then. Overnight is when they restock!

MarkUpnorth profile image
MarkUpnorth in reply tomrsmike9

Been doing that. But, some stores are changing the game. No more early shopping. The really need to focus on restocking the shelves. Did all my shopping before the sun came up, except 1, which didn't open until hour later at 9AM. Soon they will all be that way?

Concerned as to how this is going to affect everyone across the nation as the days/weeks/months go by. This is a whole new frontier for all of us, and I told my lirrle granddaughter, who is only hearing fear in everyone’s voices, that it’s like we are like the pioneers going to a new place. We don’t know where we are going or what we will experience along the way, but as long as we keep our faith, do what our leaders tell us to do, and don’t panic, we will get there in fine shape.

I am not too worried at this point. My town has no cases (yet) and the state only has had 37 so far. I am pretty much carrying on!

1. I just spent a week cleaning the house like it hasn't been cleaned in a decade. Did this for company, which we had to cancel after all that cleaning because of a flu scare from my wife/ daycare teacher who cleans up the wet noses and non stop throw-ups from the kids medical parents claiming it's only teething. No wonder influenza A is running ramped with half the kids and teachers out sick?

Forget the Coronavirus. The influenza is among us, big time this year. Yes we got our flu shots...

2. I got the "last package" of TP! (Took a package from the many, moved it to an empty shelf where they were remodeling? Took a pic. Texted it.

See dear, I got the last one!

3. Found bottles of unused hand sanatizer from around the house, like the one from the 70's? still in the garage. We've got plenty of hand soap!

4. Went to vote, finally. Stayed away during early voting? Got to the school, closed by governor order in our state, 3 election judges, and myself and 2 other voters. No waiting. No problem finding a booth 6' apart on the gym. No hand sanatizer. But the little boys room was right next to the gym!

5. Not walking the malls. Only outdoors. Was too wet or too cold lately to walk outdoors, so gaining weight! :(

6. BUT! Just figured this one: I did DMT's for many years, but quit almost a half decade ago due to developing never ending flu like symptoms. I had flu like symptoms for almost 2 years. That was my life. BUT, even before that, I never got so much as a sniffle for decades. I felt invincible! The actual flu...never got it. Just the flu like symptoms including fever and shakes. Colds, nope. But after about 3 years stopping the DMT's I got a tiny cold. The next year another. I just checked, does an interferon, (that was all the DMT's in the old days), days of the ABC drugs, increase your chance of catching Coronavirus? Stupid!?! Interferons strengthen your immune system. So maybe it wasn't the I couldn't possibly afford to be sick...already working 80+ hour weeks,..maybe I boosted my immune system into overdrive with the interferons? Maybe that's why I had to stop with the non-stop flu like symptoms according to my neuros? They said it definitely wasn't helping my MS. If so, now that I've been off them, I need to shelter? Nah, just have to figure out how to get through a door with my 12' diameter social distancing hula hoop hung from my shoulders!?!?

(12'dia makes a 6' space all around you)! If I squeeze a bit going at the door with the hoop at an angle? Nope, still doesn't fit. ???

Jesmcd2 profile image
Jesmcd2CommunityAmbassador in reply toMarkUpnorth

Did you actually find a hula hoop that big?🤔🤣🤣

When my neuro opthamologist told me in 2018, that I'd never drive again, I felt my world was shrinking. Then I heard my state's governor, last week, declare a statewide emergency, and my world shrank a little more. Now, every day, my world gets smaller and smaller. Soon, I may not even be able to go out for my daily walk if the next politician's press confrance may be the one saying we have to shelter in place.
