This is my first time writing but my question is, has anyone else experienced having a lesion behind the eye and also told they have glaucoma? If so what was your input on having surgery? Im afraid that it can do more damage than good. Thanks everybody. Sandie

i had a big black square in my sight of my left eye and they did some minor lazor i think it was called and had a lot of shots in the eye to help further get rid of the big black spot and it went on for a few years and now i just quit getting them i know i probably should not of but it was up to me so it quit...i know i will probably have to go back if the spot comes back for it was scary to drive with only one good eye but i don't know for sure now...if not sure get a second opinion ....are you going to a specialist eye ...and do they know anything about MS ...it might help by asking or you can look into it or call MS society and they can help....love and happiness in your life....

I have an appointment with the doctor that is a specialist for glaucoma but it's my first time seeing him. So he's unaware of my lesions. I already am losing vision in my right eye due to MS and my pupil is enlarged.

mine is swollen also ...take care and make sure he is aware that you have MS just to make sure he is aware and if it is caused by the MS ...i was told no that it was from high blood pressure but i have never had high blood pressure ..makes me mad that these doctors don't really listen to us like they are afraid of something ...i don't know i just keep asking lots of questions to try and figure out what is going on ...take care ...

you will get used to being able to see with 1 eye . it took me a week but thats was because i determined not to let that get me down when my retina detached. I wore an eye patch 4 a month then i got cute protective glasses and no one knows i have one eye. if it doesnt benefit the person to know i dont tell them

Wondering about surgery do you mean surgery for the lesion or for the glaucoma?

For the glaucoma. I'm afraid that it will do more damage to my eyesight than good.

I've had glaucoma for about 15 years. I see a glaucoma specialist. He told me a couple years ago that there was a surgery for it but to hold off for a while because the surgery only lasts about 6 years and then goes back to high pressures. And that you can only have it done twice. So he said I should wait because in the future there will probably be a surgery where it won't have to be done over or last way longer. I also had cataract surgery about 10 years ago. And I have had optic neuritis, vitreous detachment, and dry eye disease. My retina specialist said that he would rather not do surgery now for the vitreous detachment because of all of the eye problems unless my vision gets really really gets bad. It's just really bad now not really really bad. 😬

I don't think the glaucoma is associated with MS. I also have INO where the eyes don't move the same speed when you look to the side, that is from an MS lesion. It's not really noticeable to people unless you're really looking for it to move slower.
