The Art of Falling - Seriously

Sunday my daughter and I took the dogs for a walk. Was so nice to be with her she lives nearby but a visit and a walk oh my. I tripped I thought oh god I’m going to fall instead I grabbed my daughter who kept me up. It got me thinking is there a “right” way to fall? My last two falls were while walking the dog so both times I broke my fall with my right hand/arm. Messed up my shoulder more than anything but nothing broken except my ego. I want to fall like Gene Wilder playing Willie Wonker, how do you fall?

They taught me in therapy to try and fall on my bad side and roll. That way I don’t brake anything on the good side 🤪😂😆👍🏼🙏😉🐾🐾

i've read you fall to your weaker side and i always fall right. i wish i could fall backwards as i have ample cushion there😀.

I fall that quickly, I don’t have time to think about which side I should fall on 🤷‍♀️

You would think I actually said it out loud oh my god im going to fall. Sidewalk was uneven I wasn’t watching my feet like I normally do too busy talking. It was like a slow motion moment. My bad side is the side the dog is on how does one train for falling on their bad side. Being silly now but very grateful I didn’t fall.

Unfortunately, as I have learned from lost friends, as you age, the last thing you want to do is fall flat on your back with the back of your head hitting a hard surface. Depending on bone density, such a fall can wind up with a deadly internal decapitation or a brain bleed. So, on the bright side, try to twist/rotate and land on either side, just protect the back side of your head. Yes, that method might hurt, but at least you can curse about it!

The last time (2 months ago) I was not Princess Grace! Flat on my face on the driveway. Road rash on my cheek and broken wrist! If you find a way to think while in the middle of it as to turn (or whatever) let me know! I don't even have the sense to put my hands out to try to catch myself!

Wow! The doctor where I went asked if I had done that, which broke my wrist. Nope! Fell on my face!
