Falling

This is just something over the years I have noticed. Being wobbly and like jelly when "YOU" fall is a good thing. If I have to fall I just let myself go into a heap, basically just collapse and fold up. Trying to fight it has lead to all sorts of bruises and scares, but just collapsing to the ground may be a little embarrassing to some, but it does not hurt me.

Get a thick foam mat and just practice it, how to go down easily. She who lmust be obeyed's father Seventy-something takes it further he lies down on the floor and with no aids gets himself up. He has been doing this for years and is a very useful skill to have. Something not taught in schools, but something if You ever need it is good to now.

Perhaps this might be something that "YOU" might like to add to your ms skill set.

Royce,

greaterexp posted something called 'practice falling down' about two months ago with a video of the way that is suggested that you fall to prevent injury. Did you see it?

Keep Smiling, my friend,

Carole :-D

That’s what I do is the collapse fall and try to go to right side as I have less feeling in that side👍. Plus I don’t want to break anything on my left good side that I depend on 👍🙏😊. The guy that was shown how to fall I would break my wrist 🤬. It is great to know how to fall roll and get back up 👍😉 Ken 🐾🐾

Sounds like a useful skill to work on! ☺

This is smart. I also think we can figure out a circus class where we actually train ourselves for falls. Mental and muscle memory, plus it could be empowering and fun. Anyone have ideas?

Great suggestion and great skill to develop. I remember when I was was newly diagnosed my in home PT therapist taught me a few things to do if I fell. Definitely valuable skill ☺️🙏☺️

I think the next time I find myself on the floor I will do some floor exercises before I get up. I miss that.

You are right about falling. It is better to just go with it. Hurt yourself a lot less and much easier to get up by getting yourself into a position on floor that allows you to use your strengths. And yes, we do have them. Also, if you have the time or opportunity to, protect your head and face as you go down. To be honest, the first thing I do when I fall is to look around and see if anybody saw me. Still pretty vain!😁
