checked off 1 of 2 goals for this summer

Just got back from a week in London. I worried about this trip for months wondering if I could hack it. The week was very enjoyable, got to visit with my daughter (the reason I took this trip), and saw some interesting sites. My sister (on the right, me in the middle, daughter on the left) went along, which was great since I don't see her often b/c she lives in another state. We even got to see Hamilton on the West End - what a play! My daughter is doing well and will be finishing her graduate program in August. She made her plane reservation and will be getting home 3 days before my next big goal for this summer - having my other daughter's wedding in our backyard (mid-August - something else I've been worrying about since last fall).

That's wonderful! My mother keeps trying to get me to go to London with her, but I don't fly. I'm glad you had a great trip.

I'm so glad that you enjoyed yourself! It really can be hard to know in advance, so it's wonderful that it went well. I hope you have lots of help lined up for the wedding! 😁

I need to work on setting up enough help. Stressing me out 😵‍💫

I bet. Definitely want to recruit lots of help and take on a more "supervisory role"! I hope you can call housecleaners, caterers, etc., and hopefully some of your daughter's friends would be willing to help out. It sounds beautiful to have a wedding at home, just hope everyone goes out of their way to keep you from having a relapse! Best of luck.

Thank you. Great suggestions which I should follow. You are right, no relapse needed. 😊

I'm glad you enjoyed London. I love it too. My daughter went over there to grad school 10 years ago and niw she has citizenship. Good luck with the backyard wedding in August too!

It’s definitely a big year for us. I keep telling myself that I will rise to the occasion as I always do. It’s just hard getting there. I’m really happy for both my daughters and can’t believe they’re grown up so much☺️

Thank you. Last time I was in London was 1989 (pre-MS, in my 20s when I was more adventurous and confident with travel)

I was in Germany just a couple years later! I'd dearly love to go back, and explore some more countries.

Such a lovely post! I’m really happy that you enjoyed yourself in England. I agree with the others about having help for the wedding. We had our wedding reception at our house. It will be 30 years ago in August.z we hired a nice man to get the house sparkling clean before hand, we had a caterer and a DJ my husband and I worked full-time back then I was still taking call in two modalities. We absolutely needed some help… Lol it was also for me pre-diagnosis. It was the most intimate wedding reception I’ve ever been to in my opinion, of course

thank you for your thoughts. I appreciate the comments about getting help - something I definitely need to do. The person I had lined up ghosted me last month! ugh! I can't tell you how many early morning awakenings I have had worrying about this day.

I totally get what you’re saying. Luckily, you still have time to find somebody trustworthy.. the man that cleaned our house which was not fancy then or now was a retired police officer
