Saw both photos. Thanks again! I've seen the Leki brands, they are at the higher end of prices. Good to know they last!

Can one of you explain how these poles help with hiking? I went on a fairly flat hike with a friend and she thought I should looking into trekking poles to help. My biggest problems are stamina and some wobbly balance here and there. I’ve been trying to figure out how the poles would help.

These are the ones I bought and here's some YouTube videos on how they suggest to use them. I obviously have no practical experience to share. My gait it not great, and occasionally a toe will drag just enough to cause a stumble. Hope these can make me feel more confident about having a little bit of support if that should happen.

I'm not sure if I'm going to try the nordic walking method. That looks like it's designed for advanced users, lol.

Thanks! Not sure about it though. Too much to think about at once it seems like. I spend a lot of mental energy trying to make sure I’m not stumbling and that I’m lifting my feet appropriately.

I'm hoping the motion is more natural than the videos make it seem!
