Changing to Aubagio

What are your experiences with this medication. They would have put me on Ovecres (sp?) but the breast cancer issue disqualified me.

I have been on Aubagio for about 3 years and have had absolutely NO side effects. I was most afraid my hair would fall out but it didn't. No stomach issues. nothing. I hope that helps. ocrevus might be my next step but that has loads of side effects. I am not eligible for Tysabri due to +PML. Have you considered Tysabri?

I have been on Augagio for about 2 1/2 years. Ive have had no new lesions. After about 3 Months my hair started falling out. Lost about 1/3 of it. It was scary, but I stuck with it. It lasted about 2 or 3 months. Then it all grew back and is normal and never happened again. Also it says can cause diarrhea. Well (tmi) now that im taking, I'm finally regular. So that's a plus. No other issues with it.

Yeah I did the tysabri test years ago and was so disappointed that I tested positive because they then put me on gylena which made me infertile for 6 months thank god my gynaecologist kicked it back into function. That was the last time I tried to commit to a dmt. I did the test for ocrevus yesterday and am praying that I can have it. My neurologist had a freak out at my mri last week and said it’s so active because I didn’t listen to him and look at me now. He went so far as to mention being in a wheelchair chair in a few years. Instead of crying I looked at him and said you are an asshole, you know full well I have tried all dmts that have been available since 2006, and all made me sick and I couldn’t stay on them so don’t you dare put this on me . Felt better after my rant, thought it was the best free therapy I’ve had in years😸very naughty of me I know😈😞 but he was just awful, so I’m switching back to my other hospital and the neurologist is cold clinical and factual. No nonsense but she listens so on a positive I’m going to focus on that. The head nurse who works with her is amazing and is the one who came a gave me a home visit day before yesterday. So I’m really happy about that, the 5 days of steroids haven’t done anything yet and my left leg has just gone dead. So bed day and back to the fight tomorrow. Thank you so much for sharing 😘

I think it was good you set that doctor straight. He needed a wake up call on how to speak to patients.

You definitely need a more caring neurologist. What he said to you is unconscionable.

I have been on Aubagio for at least 6 years. The 1st 2 meds I was on gave me unhealthy side effects so this was number 3. No side effects and have been pretty stable! Easy to take. This is just my experience and I have hear of a couple here that didn't like it. So it really depends on the person. No harm in trying, though!
