I have COVID! 🥴

Hello,

I know I don’t write a lot, but I do read posts on here daily and sometimes respond. Anyhow, I wanted to come on here and see if anyone else has had COVID? I had a positive test last week and go figure, I got it from a family member! I’m a nurse and have worked in the hospital this entire time with nothing. I’m actually fine, just had mild symptoms, but also lost taste/smell which is weird. I’m wondering if the mild symptoms had to do with taking vitamin D..? My husband and 2 year old have it too. My daughter and I both do vitamin D daily, but hubby doesn’t. He got really sick! Fever, loss of smell/taste, chills, body aches and a few days ago, body rash (?). I’m just a little bummed because I was doing really well prior to getting sick, but now I’m foggy and my MS symptoms have flared. Hoping I’ll be better sooner rather than later. Let me know if you’ve had COVID and how it was with your MS. Thanks, love to all and take that vitamin D!❤️

Vitamin D and low dose Zinc, though I am sure you know that. I hope you and your family get better soon with no recurring effects. Good luck and look after yourself

Not happy to hear that you have COVID, Jer29-11 I have been taking Vitamin D for at least 5 years now, and I am told that it might provide some protection against this virus. I don't want to test it though. I have been told by everyone affected by COVID that they lose the ability to smell and taste. Stay on that road to recovery and get better SOON! :-D

A year ago (February 2020) everyone on the floor of my old work (close to 100 people) plus my husband had it. We didn't know it was COVID yet. Everyone had different symptoms - a cold, bronchitis, the flu etc. I gave it to my husband. I had a bizarre cold that lasted 2 weeks. My husband's cold lasted 1 week. When I had an appointment with my neurologist a couple of weeks ago, he did mention that if an MS patient gets COVID, it takes us twice as long to get over it as non-MS patients.

I hope you and your family feel better soon. But please don't worry - we have had viruses from the coronavirus family all of our lives.

However, you should try to convince your husband to get tested for vitamin D (maybe at least at the next annual) and get on the vitamin D regimen. My husband and I both take 5K.

I'm sorry you've contracted this NASTY virus. Yes, after having kept myself isolated from the world due to MS I caught it from my husband who is an over the road truck driver. This was at the end of October. I had fever, chills, body aches, loss of taste and smell and of course increased brain fog and fatigue. Now in late February I am recently able to do some easy yoga, stationary bike. Took my dog for a walk for the time yesterday since getting sick. It has been the weakness, fatigue and brain issues that have been hanging on. The other symptoms did go away after about 2 weeks. My neurologist said I was very lucky compared to many other MS people. I was able to recover at home with no major relapse issues (ventilator, wheel chair bound). I have not been on any MS disease modifying drugs for a few years now due to side effects and having tried almost everything that is out there. He said in regard to Covid that turned out to be a good decision since those meds mostly involve our immune systems.
