This post is for the women only so if you're a guy, don't read ahead. (hmmm. I see you.)

Dear females with MS, please tell me what tricks and tips you have for hooking your bras? I seem to be having trouble with dexterity on my right hand. Nuf said.

thanks

I have dexterity problems also. I am a lefty and my hand sure doesn't do what it use to! As for hooking my bra...no trick, place it so the hooks are in front, hook it and turn it so the go to your back. If you have come up with a better way I am all ears!

I’ve never hooked my bras from the back. Guess I’m weird, but it never made sense to me to hook them the traditional way.

Hi mrsmike I haven't come up with a better idea. 🙄 I've always done it the way you mentioned but now it's harder to connect even one hook and eye.

I learned to do this when I broke my wrist and couldn't do it the way I had been taught as a girl. So, for the last 20 years I have hooked it in front as so many other (smarter) folks do. And even then, sometimes, it's tricky...just like zippers that separate, and necklace clasps, and ...

I do it the same, since I cannot reach the back.

When I was wearing a bra I hooked it in the front and then pulled it around. But I don't wear one anymore

I usually do not either. Too much bother for too little to cover😅😂🤣

Me, too, if I'm not going to work. And it and my shoes are the first things off when I get home.

I had that problem, so I now wear similar to sports bras. I just pull them over my head but I must admit I am not as well endowed as I once was. They come in all colours and Lacey so I have fancy ones but with lockdown I don’t wear them,

Oh, wear them anyway! I always figured they make me feel better! 😃😁😆

I've always hooked them up the way others have already described. I've seen pictures in catalogs of ones that zip or hook in the front between the girls. I haven't tried any of them yet though. I got a catalog in the mail the other day from a place called Dr. Leonard's. It claims to be "America's Leading Discount Healthcare Catalog". I've never heard of them before and haven't ordered anything from it yet. So I don't know how good any of it is. The catalog has some front closure bras in it. If you want to check them out the catalog lists a web address as "drleonards.com". They might have more on the website than in the catalog.

I used to wear one (it was a long time ago) and it was a front closure. It didn't have a typical hook and eye closure. It was a single plastic thing that slid together and when you flattened that out, it would snap and lock.

Front hook is the only way to go...😉

That is a new idea. I tried it today. A little struggle but it worked OK

I have the same problem as you. If my hub's not there to help, I spin the hooks around to the front and it makes it easier-sometimes.

Champion makes nice sports bras, nothing to clasp.

Dont wear one?.....i cant hook a necklace solution:magnet latches.. hmmm maybe we can magnatize the bra?(haha could you see walking thru a store and varoom diamond rings...on your back?)

Sandydemop profile image

great Idea!! somebody has to invent the magnetic latches on bras. they would make millions. I've heard of magnetic "buttons" for men's shirts. great idea

My husband helps but when he can't, I put it on backwards and spin it around.

I always did the spinning thing but even when it's in front, too hard to get the clasp connected. Now i'm wearing the one piece kind that you pull over your head. Doesn't have the underwire component but at least i'm not naked.
